We spent 4 nights at Lodge Eleonora and could have stayed looking at the view forever. The accommodation was spacious and welcoming. Both beds were big and comfy. Bathroom and kitchen were spotlessly clean. The living room was very comfortable and honestly didn't want to leave.
This was a lovely place to stay. Beautiful setting, great view. We really appreciated the peace and quiet. The bungalow itself had everything we needed snd more and was a great choice for two people. Loads of room but still cosy and intimate. The garden was big snd inviting - though the February rain prevented us from making the most of it. We definitely recommend Lodge Eleonora and hope to be able to return there before long. Everything was five stars!
There is a host of interesting places to visit on the Isle of Bute. A "must-see" is Mount Stuart House, Britain's best example of Victorian Gothic architecture. The 300-acre grounds, with their various gardens and glorious vistas over the Firth of Clyde, are a haven of tranquillity. Another excellent visitor attraction is Rothesay Castle. The Stuart Kings spent their summers here; a stronghold whose circular design is unique in Scotland. Bute also hosts many events throughout the year, including its very own annual music festival weekend, Bute Fest. From the spectacular Highland Games, to the traditions of the Agricultural Show, from concerts to art, whatever your interest it can be found on Bute.
The best way to explore the island at your own pace is by car, however we do understand that not all guests wish to bring their car on holiday.
There is a reliable bus service which travels from Kilchattan Bay at the south of the island up to Rhubodach at the north. All buses travel through the town and Rothesay. There are also buses which take you to Ettrick Bay where you can also enjoy lunch or coffee at the café. During the summer season the bus service also runs to Mount Stuart house.
During the summer there is also a City Sightseeing bus, which is a hop on - hop off service, that tours around the island frequently.
自我介绍
I moved to the Isle of Bute in 2001 simply because I fell in love with the island and the friendly local people. My daughter Shawna and I own and run Jacqueline's Property Services (short: JPS Bute). We manage and advertise self-catering accommodations of various sizes across the island.
