The place was nice. It was a great place for our family to relax and enjoy the beach. The exterior shows some wear from storms, but the interior was very clean and homey. The sunrises from the master bedroom and deck are amazing. It's not a long walk to the beach but being able to drive up to the beach was also very convenient. We saw several horses and witnessed turtles leaving their nest and making their way to the beach, which was very special. We loved feeling like we were in the backcountry on the 4WD beach. I will say that I wish I was more prepared with incidentals when we got there as it's not convenient to run into the store when you forgot something. My suggestion is if you think you need it, then bring it. We would definitely come back and just be more prepared next time. Louis was very helpful and responsive. It was a memorable family vacation!

10/10. Super private and quiet. We saw a ton of horses just outside the front door everyday and they are magical. Great spot for toddlers and babies if you got one!

Our stay at Louis’s place was wonderful! Plenty of room for my family and getting to see the horses everyday was breathtaking! Yes, the house could use some updates, but it was super clean and that’s what’s most important to me. We felt right at home! Thanks again for letting us enjoy your home for a week! Would stay again!

Wonderful, secluded Carova Beach. We saw wild horses daily, pulled right up to the beach spot in our AWD car, and enjoyed family meals together in the evening. We’re an adventurous family, so the 30 minute 4x4 beach ride into Corolla for ice cream one evening gave us the opportunity to comb the beaches for horses and seabirds. If you are looking for the commercialism side of OBX, this is not for you. If you want to remove yourself from it all, read, relax, and enjoy the bird-watching and horses, this place is calling your name!

The stay was great. Location was very nice as long as you have a 4x4. House was well kept, but a few small maintenance items could be addressed. Very private considering the number of houses/rentals in the sand dune area. Some amenities were lacking or outdated. The gas grill was new and worked for cooking meals. The house was clean, water was great with great water pressure. I would definitely consider staying again for a future vacation. Overall, it was a relaxing stay and no major complaints.
