This charming retreat is surrounded by live oaks, whimsical art, wild horses, and ocean waves. Carova Beach is a truly special refuge from our busy world-- a perfect place to reconnect with yourself and loved ones. The 3 bdrm house is on a dead-end sandy road with no neighbors in sight, just a 3 min drive from the beach, with a hot tub to relax in. There's original, playful art in every room, perfect inspiration for finishing up that novel I know you have in you! 4WD is needed to drive up here. The house is charmingly decorated with playful ocean paintings and a cute surfer vibe. There are three bedrooms: the master Rainbow bedroom has a king bed, the second Wave bedroom has a double bed in it, and the third Mermaid bedroom has two twins set up as a bunkbed. There are two bathrooms in the house. One is in the hall between the Mermaid room and the Wave room, while the other is situated inside the master bedroom. The house is located in Carova Beach, a sparely developed area of coastal North Carolina. Separated from the rest of Corolla by nature and wildlife preserves, Carova Beach is accessible only by driving on the beach for about 20 minutes. Carova Beach is a time capsule, and still feels exactly like it did in the 1980s, with sand roads and wild horses. It's a perfect location for people who want to reconnect with nature and take a break from operating in a world built on concrete. The house is super private, and is nestled on the sound side of North Swan Beach, but has amenities to help you stay connected to the outside world, like reliable Wi-Fi, Internet, multiple Roku TVs, and a smart speaker.

The cottage was lovely and decorated well with up to date amenities. In hotel terms it very much gave a boutique vibe with a well thought out level of comfort. The host is informative and thorough in communications. I would absolutely head back for a peaceful retreat and of course to see the beautiful horses!
Green wave cottage was a wonderful place to stay. It was in Such a peaceful setting, nestled in the trees and very private. We were relaxed from the moment we arrived, and yet had all the amenities of home. The hot tub was lovely but the biggest thrill was the visit from the wild horses, who surrounded the property eating on the grass for 30 minutes. We couldn’t recommend it more, our only regret that we hadn’t booked a longer stay
We had a very peaceful stay at Green Wave cottage! It’s a great size, very comfortable, and incredibly quiet. There are no restaurants, stores, etc in this area so it’s just you and the wildlife which we enjoyed. We saw horses in the yard!, deer, so many birds, snakes, and so many other animals. But the house is fully stocked and has internet and TV so you don’t feel too disconnected from civilization. The house is about a 10 minute stroll to the ocean from this location which we enjoyed walking with our dog every day. It is located 8 miles down the beach so you absolutely cannot get there without a 4x4 vehicle. I would not recommend attempting at night as it’s not a normal road - it’s literally the beach. Definitely a unique vacation but Erin was such an excellent host we would definitely visit again!
This area is so remote and secluded...and perfect. We spent 4 days and enjoyed horses napping in the side yard, the most beautiful birds, and pure peace and quiet. This place was a true gem and Erin was amazing!

Experience the tranquility of North Swan Beach, an oceanfront community harmoniously integrated into the heart of the Currituck Outer Banks' 4-wheel drive beaches. Here, nature's wonders unfold before your eyes, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Currituck Sound to the west, Currituck National Wildlife Refuge to the south, and False Cape State Park to the north.
Carova is accessible by sand roads and by driving on the beach. This is easy and fun adventure to do, but you must have a 4x4 vehicle. You will air down your tires to 20 psi before you leave the pavement. There is free air and space to do this by the lighthouse in Corolla.
The area can present challenges for those with accessibility needs, as the sand can be more unpredictable than pavement.
