El señor Álvaro es muy amable el lugar es agradable y limpio tiene unos cuadros muy bonitos
The colorful art makes this one of our most memorable stays ever! We had a family reunion in the area and (very) last minute realized we needed additional rooms. Alvaro was very accommodating, with the easiest remote access check in and even had a lovely spread of breakfast items freshly stocked for us! The house almost feels like an artsy coffee shop, with the cathedral ceiling, balcony, and art covering the walls! The house is very quiet and secluded, we saw deer and a fox from the deck. No water access on the property, but we brought bikes, and it was an easy and safe 15 min peddle to the beach. Alvaro was very welcoming and communicative, we wish we'd had time to take him up on the invitation to tour his gallery and art gardens on the property! There were many mosquitos, as normal for this area, so we were vigilant when opening and closing outside doors. The bedrooms were quite bright in the morning, we'd recommend adding blackout curtains for better sleeping. Great stay!
Alvaro was a great host who provided eggs, milk, orange juice, everything you need to have a breakfast. His place is lovely but out in the country so internet was intermittent.
Peace, security. Easy access In mid of North, Potomac and, South Rappahanock rivers and the bay.

Handy Man by Denise DeVries Here's to the man whose paintings of hands should gather applause all over the land, who first built a gallery and then a museum so people could come to Kilmarnock to see them. Mano a mano he took on the neighbors, who, blind to his vision, derided his labors, and those local bigots who just couldn't tell the difference between him and any Manuel. A handlebar-mustachioed artist, it seems, shadows his work with surrealist dreams, and gallery viewers walk to and fro, pairing his name with Picasso, Van Gogh… seeing the handwriting there on the wall, but few have the eye to answer the call. They drive down the road to buy a piece with sailboats and herons, or maybe some geese. He takes his handkerchief, wipes his brow, and keeps on building anyhow. His wife's a translator, his daughter an actor, and he sculpts the land on a '54 tractor
