Tucked away in the San Juan National Forest 17 miles northeast of Durango, Colorado, the Lemon Reservoir is a beautiful, secluded alpine lake created by the Lemon Dam. Lemon Reservoir takes up about 622 acres of surface area in the Weminuche Wilderness, at approximately 3 miles long and a half of a mile wide. Cabin is 1 mile from public access to the Florida River known for rainbow and brown trout. Biking, birding, fishing, small boating, hiking, hunting, rock climbing, wildlife viewing are all around. Lake Vallecito is nearby (appx 14 miles) and features a marina with boat, kayak and SUP rentals, ice fishing, cross country skiing, ATV rentals, small grocery, restaurants and bars. Due to extreme drought conditions, the outdoor fire pit will be put away for Summer 2021 - wild fire prevention. In winter (November through April), 4WD is required. It is NECESSARY that you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle. This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years). Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.
