Nestled in the peaceful hills of Burgundy with the vineyards of Beaune just a stone’s throw away, The Writer’s Cabin is the perfect cozy hide away to unplug, slow down and recharge. For a romantic get away, some me-time all by yourself or to work an a creative project. Relax as you enjoy the views of the woods, admire the incredibly starry skies we get here from your private hot tub or read a book in the swing chair on the deck or curled up in the sofa inside in front of the wood burner. You’ll have a kitchen and bathroom, wood burner, a private hot tub and a large deck for you to enjoy being in nature. You'll find all we feel you need - tea, coffee, slow brew coffee and Nespresso, olive oil and spices and herbs, soaps, washing up liquid, bedding, towels and robes, a selection of inspiring books in English, French and Dutch, a wood burner, outdoor fire pit, blankets, and even a Ukulele :) so you can enjoy cabin life to the fullest! The bed is 140cm wide and 200cm long (so a normal US / Dutch length, longer than the French 190cm standard) Many of our previous guests say the cabin is bigger on the inside in real life than they’d expected from the pictures.

Wir bedanken uns herzlich bei Marloes & Olav für diesen einzigartigen Aufenthalt! Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, genau wie beschrieben und einfach ein toller Ort um sich auszubremsen und um den Moment zu leben. Die Liebe zum Detail war überall erkennbar und Marloes & Olav waren super freundliche und immer hilfsbereite Gastgeber, die uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt haben. Das liebevoll zubereitete Essen war ein absolutes Highlight- danke dafür! Wir freuen uns jetzt schon, wieder zurückzukommen! Danke für diesen wunderbaren Urlaub. La tiny house de Marloes et Olaf est un havre de paix. Du logement, sa décoration et le calme de la campagne, tout était parfait. Le Jacuzzi/bain nordique permet de se relaxer en fin de journée après une journée d’expédition. Champignolles se situe à proximité de nombreux d’attractions (Beaune, Pommard, Route des Grands Crus, etc.). Marloes et Olaf sont de parfaits hôtes et réactifs. Après avoir passé un weekend dans ce logement atypique, nous le recommandons fortement.

Staying a couple of nights at the Writer''s Cabin was such a bliss and Marloes is a top host.

Our refuge is in a tiny and quiet hamlet on a small and quiet road only used by the local farmers and we’re the last house of the village. Bigger cities such as Beaune, Autun, Dijon and Chalon-sur-Saône are only between 20 - 50 minutes away by car and there are plenty of restaurants and shops within 10-20 minutes drive. The vineyards of Hautes Côtes de Beaune and the many charming wine villages are at 10
minutes drive.
We have a private parking and we have complimentary bikes - plain old ones, no e-bikes :) - that you can use to explore the region.
There is no public transport in or near our village so it’s best to come by car. We do offer (paid) taxi services to those traveling by train and public transport as it isn’t easy to get a taxi here, and surely not on short notice. Welcome to the countryside!

Entrepreneur, mom of two boys, lover of life. I love enjoying the simple things in life: a walk in the countryside, roasting marshmallows over a fire, enjoying a latte macchiato in the sun, reading inspiring books (on Personal growth or biographies of people who inspire me). Originally from The Netherlands, my husband Olav and I moved here with our two boys - then 11 and 8 - in 2019. We were looking to live a life closer to nature and focus on the things that truly matter to us: love, peacefulness, being present in the moment, connection, happiness, togetherness, contribution. We’ve since been putting our heart and soul into turning our old farmhouse into a “refuge d’hôtes” with a cabin, two cottages and a bed & breakfast room. At the moment, only The Writer’s Cabin is open to guests. We hope to open the first cottage in the course of 2023. We pinch ourselves every day that we get to live in such a peaceful place in the countryside and yet so close to the vineyards and beautiful cities of Beaune and Dijon.
