We had a brilliant stay at the old coo shed. Kate and Mark were super friendly and proactive hosts, and the house was lovely and peaceful. Would highly recommend!
10 out of 10 possible stars what a fabulous stay location perfect accomodation perfect 100% recommendation
We had the most amazing stay at the old coo shed, the surroundings were beautiful. It was great having the garden available for our daughter to run around and see the animals! The location was perfect, we visited Brodie castle and Lossiemouth Beach. The accommodation was really homely, a very comfortable bed and we enjoyed relaxing in the cosy living room in the evening. Mark and Kate were so welcoming and lovely, they made us feel right at home, we wished we had booked to stay longer but know we will definitely be back!
We enjoyed every moment during our stay. The hosts were nice and a full of knowledge about what's going on locally. The place was very clean and cozy. We strongly recommend this place to anyone.
Kate and Mark are fabulous hosts, very welcoming and helpful. The house was squeaky clean, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed and more. Absolutely loved the personal touches and fresh milk, jam, biscuits and eggs. Even our dog had his own wee biscuit, poop bags and towel! Peaceful settings and loved having the animals so close to us. Perfect stay, very very happy, will recommend! Thank you so much 😊
Speyside is a diverse area full of a great variety of activities to enjoy within a few miles. You are on the whisky trail and can visit at least 6 distilleries within 5
miles, (The Macallan and Aberlour are within walking distance).
The spey way is a very short distance away, so lots of lovely walks.
There is the Knockando woollen mill with museum, Ballindalloch Castle with spectacular gardens, and the
Speyside Cooperage all close by.
We are rural Aberlour, From the old coo shed you can take a scenic walk to Aberlour village it takes you over the river Spey on a foot bridge
and into the park in Aberlour it takes around 35 minutes you can then walk into the village where there are various
places to eat, shop and look round, at one end of the village is walkers shortbread factory which has a shop to buy lovely shortbread and other products and at the
other end of the village is Aberlour distillery.
There's a very long and beautiful coastline to access within half an hour where you can see dolphins, seals and birds of interest. This is not to mention the walking,
fishing and even skiing within 50 minutes that can be accessed to enhance your Speyside holiday.
Not of course forgetting the chance to spot 'The Northern Lights'!
The property is equidistant between Aberdeen and
Inverness both around an 1 hour drive approximately and
great for access to airports and train stations as well as
theatre, restaurants and shopping.
There are three train stations in the area. Elgin (12 miles),
Aviemore (35 miles), Keith (15 miles).
A good taxi service is available if you are doing tours of
distilleries and trying a dram or two of whisky (booking is
Essential ) and also a bus service that runs through Aberlour.
