We had a wonderful time at "The Middlewood". We arrived in the evening and didn't have any problems to find the key. The instructions to get inside were clear. On the table we found a friendly letter and there was a loaf of bread, as well as milk, orange juice, butter, jam, marmalade, tea, coffee and some sweets. After a few days Lou knocked on the door gave us a warm welcome and refilled orange juice and milk for us. Lou was also very nice to our four-year-old daughter. One day I came back earlier than my husband and since he had the key I called Phil and asked if it was possible to let me inside and they did. It also wasn't a problem to invite some friends and Lou told me that they could also park on the courtyard. The flat was cosy and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Great location. Beautiful property, faultless in every way. Phil and Lou make you feel really welcome. We have stayed here several time and now look forward to being in the area to stay again.

Great little place, especially if youre wanting to walk along the canal or river or be close to the peak district. We had a family occasion near by so it was good to have our own space and have somewhere to cook inbetween some sightseeing and meet ups. Kitchen is perfect for a cooked breakfast and more. Lou was welcoming on arrival.

Lovely self-contained pad within grounds of hosts beautiful home in picturesque semi-rural setting. Easy and secure parking on private drive behind electric gates. Private entrance is into a kitchenette/dining/living space which includes a double sofa that can be used as a sofa bed. Spacious double bedroom and large separate bathroom with plenty of good quality bedding, towels and toiletries. Lovely touches included fresh flowers, locally baked bread with butter and jams, sweet treats, milk, juice and water. Place was clean and comfortable - a little home from home. Host was very proactive in providing clear instructions in relation to location and access. Would definitely recommend.

The place was great, the bed was super comfy, the bathroom was lovely and the kitchen well equipped - also great value for money.
