Rainbow Beach is a laidback seaside town nestled between the Great Sandy National Park North of Noosa & K'gari (commonly known as Fraser Island).
It is renowned for coloured sands, pristine beach, fabulous fishing grounds, world class diving & excellent hang gliding spaces, great walking trails & other natural resources. It has a long surf beach, patrolled in front of the township by lifesavers or lifeguards all year round. The beach serves for horse-riding, sky-diving, 4-wheel driving, & other activities as well as swimming, surfing & fishing. Council amenities, like swimming pool, children's play areas (including skate-park), picnic shelters, toilet blocks, community centre & library, etc., are second to none; RB is the jewel in the crown of the regional council.
Geographically, the township is bounded by the Pacific Ocean on its Eastern side & the Great Sandy Straits waterway to the West. National parklands & coastal forests protect its seclusion.
The shops, cafes, restaurants & clubs in the township are modern, catering well for everyday needs & more. Locals & visitors in this community are generally casual, easy-going & relaxed. The atmosphere is vibrant.
