Location was great. We really enjoyed roof top deck and the balcony, where you can watch sunrise and sunset. However there were a couple of things we didn't like. The air-conditioning didn't work in the bedrooms on the second floor. Water pressure in one of the bathrooms was quite poor. Carpet on the floor had old stains. Bedroom on the first floor doesn't have a bathroom which makes it difficult to use it. Overall the house is great for a weekend getaway, but fixing the above mentioned things would make it so much better

Tybee Island is a beautiful beach with low-key vibes of folks just enjoying some time with their friends and families. The sand is soft, the beach is clean, and we saw a pod of dolphins swimming one day. This home is located on the southern part of Tybee, easy walking distance to touristy shops, greasy food, and bars. We like to cook at home or eat fancy, so we did a big shop at Publix/Whole Foods on our way into town and did a few dinners out in Savannah. I appreciate that folks seem to drive slowly and carefully around Tybee. This house is a 5/5 location. It was about a 60 second walk from the front door to towels on the sand. You can catch beautiful views from the second floor patio or the rooftop deck. The home is quite dated, but there was plenty of comfy seating for our family of 8 to lounge in the living room and to eat dinner around the table/kitchen bar. Importantly, the beds were comfortable. There is one major issue that justifies the poor overall rating for this house. There is a small overhang on the second floor that has a slanted wooden roof where dozens of seagulls have nested. There are spikes on the edge of the roof to deter the birds, but they clearly do not deter the birds. The first day we were there, our cars were covered in bird feces. We emailed the management/owner and they came out and sprayed down the bird feces from our cars and the driveway. This is power-spraying the chunks of feces, it does not kill the germs the feces may contain. I thought that was a reasonable response, until the next morning we woke up and our cars and the driveway were again covered in bird feces. It was to the extend that you could not walk out of the driveway without walking through bird feces nor could you walk into the house from the driveway without trekking some bird feces in on your shoes. A couple of times the bird feces covered the car door handles and we could not get into our cards without touching bird feces (we cleaned it off first, of course). We could not pull the cards forward because they would block the sidewalk, and we moved them back as close to the house as possible but they were still under the dropping area of the bird excrement. There are two identical houses attached to this house. Neither of the other two houses had birds nesting in the overhang because they had metal roofing on the overhang. Of note, these other two house also had nicer exterior maintenance. I may not have written anything in this review about the bird feces if I felt the management/owners addressed my concerns sufficiently. However, when I emailed them the second time about it, they simply stated that the owners were made aware of the problem and are planning to fix it in the off-season. There was no acknowledgment of our frustration nor of the potential health and safety risks of so much bird feces being unavoidable. It is also simply disgusting, and it is embarrassing to drive around a car with a bunch of bird poop all over it. I didn't let this issue ruin our vacation, but it is gross, unsanitary, and received a poor response from the owner. We would absolutely visit Tybee Island again, but we would not stay in this house even with it's excellent location. The situation also makes me questions the integrity of the management company, so that will be on our radar next trip.
