We had an absolutely lovely and peaceful Thanksgiving getaway at Rose Hip cottage! The setting is magical, and Thomas is a kind, flexible and responsive host. We will be back!

We had a previous stay at Thomas’ cottage and enjoyed our fall stay this past week just as much. For us it was just what we needed to recharge and relax. Thomas is so compassionate and caring and was so responsive, as we worked through some issues on our end prior to our stay. We appreciated that level of understanding as much as the beauty and serenity that he has created at this most special spot. We shall be back.

Thomas’s Rose Hip Cottage was everything we had hoped for and more. Situated right on the Bay of Maine, we could watch the birds swoop and dive and see the lobster boats head out for a days work. We hiked Great Wass our first day and were so glad we brought our hiking sticks. Hiking in Maine is NOT hiking in Illinois! We went out with Harry and Laura, owner of Coastal Cruises and heard so much about the history of the area. Stevie, the lobsterman next door, took us out on his boat and showed us how he harvests lobster. Fresh lobster from his boat, cooked in the Rose Hip kitchen was amazing! Waking up to the sunrise, watching the full moon from the deck are memories we will treasure. Thomas’s cottage had everything we needed and he was so responsive to our questions. We loved experiencing Down East Maine and know we will be back.

This was our second time staying in the Rosehip Cottage with our granddaughter in tow. She loved exploring the rocks and sandy areas in front of the house whenever the tide was low, and we loved the morning sunrises and sea birds as we had our coffee. The lobster shack was also a favorite nook for all three of us. Jonesport is a wonderful home base for hiking and exploration of the bold coast. We are already dreaming about a return to the cottage for a third time!
