Your Journey Our Home is a remarkable home away from home! This luxurious brick home has lots of relaxing indoor and outdoor space for groups and families & corporate/medical professionals. With a large den, year round sun patio, carpark, deck, fire-pit, and tons of games, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Sleeps 12 Adults and 1 infant. Our location is good for all that Lynchburg has to offer! Close to Liberty, Centra, Framatone, and More! Lots of games and outdoor activities! This is an incredibly unique home in a unique section of town very close to great dining, downtown, etc. If you're looking for a great in-town location with all the amenities this is it. Sleeps 12 Adults, 1 infant/toddler. ***Please read the entire listing before booking, as you will be agreeing to follow all house, grill, fire pit, pack in play rules and assume liability when you reserve this home. We do not rent to those under 25. Here's a road map of what you can expect: FORMAL LIVING ROOM: Modern sofa and chairs surrounding the breakfast bar and kitchen. FAMILY ROOM: LOWER LEVEL: Large sectional, 65 inch Smart TV w/ streaming apps, such as Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Peacock and more. These services are not provided, but You may log into your own accounts for optimal personalization. DINING ROOM: table seating for 12 + 2 bar stools as well as an additional dining room that seats 5 (this smaller dining room overlooks the patio and backyard). SUN PORCH: This year round meditative oasis is one of the best spots in the house! This all glass porch has views of the backyard and all that nature has to offer. Grab a good book and relax in the swing or cuddle up on the loveseat and catch the big game on the 50 inch smart TV. Or play a game of chess on the granite bistro table. KITCHEN: stainless steel appliances (fridge, microwave, built-in oven, cooktop range), granite countertops, Nespresso, regular coffee pot & tea kettle, all basic kitchen necessities (pots/pans, glassware, utensils, paper products, oil, salt, pepper, etc.). We also have a rice cooker, crock pot, chefs knives, large pots and pans. BEDROOMS: 1 king, 3 queens, 2 twins, 1 queen air mattress, one pack and play. All beds come with wonderful memory foam mattresses. This is a split level home. That means you go up three carpeted stairs to enter the bedroom area. There are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the upper level. The king suite, and two bedrooms with queen size beds. To get to the lower level which contains the den, fourth bedroom and half bathroom, you will go down eight stairs. OUTSIDE: covered carport for gathering and socializing, or play a game of corn-hole, basketball, ladder toss, or practice your putt on the golf green. This attaches to the large patio deck w/ outdoor propane coffee table and chairs, gas grill, and fire pit & chairs in the large private back yard. The deck furniture is moved under the carpark during the winter (Nov-March) Bug and wildlife info: Our place is located next to the forest that is thriving with wildlife, including the creepy crawly kind. Depending on the time of the year and weather conditions, Guests may encounter mosquitoes, bees, gnats, moths, lovebugs, ants, spiders, beetles, roaches, ladybugs, stinkbugs, etc. While we do utilize regular pest control services, we are unable to offer any guarantee against or refunds for the occasional bug that may make it inside. We do our best to prevent infestations and guests can help by keeping doors closed and disposing of trash and storing food in a responsible manner. There are lots of deer that visit. Please enjoy them but do not feed or shoot them. PARKING: Driveway or Directly in front of the house. Driveway accommodates 4 cars, 2 more may park on the street in front of home. Please do not park on our grass. *Do not park in front of the neighbors home. CHECK IN: Entrance is through the front door with a personalized code anytime after 4pm. If you come and go through the carport do not lock the glass on the front door of you will be locked out. CLIMATE CONTROL: Central heat and air, ceiling fans, DUAL Zone HVAC downstairs in den and 4th bedroom. FIREcPIT: we provide a customized rock firepit in the lower yard with seating on the wall or chairs. There is some starter firewood but also for purchase at the local convenience store around the corner from the house when in season. WHAT'S NEARBY The house is only 2 minutes away from Boonsboro Shopping Center. This is where you will find Starbucks, Food Lion grocery, and Milanos Italian Restaurant. Downtown Lynchburg is 5-8 mins away and offers the Blackwater Creek Trail system, over 10+ miles of paved walking/biking trails (and some off-road) through some of Lynchburg's prettiest spots. (Hollins mill dam waterfall, the old train tunnel, rose garden, etc.) You can walk or bike downtown to explore, or just enjoy a leisurely scenic walk through nature. Liberty University: 10-15 min University of Lynchburg: 11 min Restaurants: 2-3 min Golf Park Coffee: 3 min Downtown Lynchburg: 5 min HOUSE RULES: Send the magic phrase to confirm you have read and feel good about the layout. We do not want any surprises. *NO EVENTS, PARTIES, GATHERINGS, OR OUTSIDE VISITORS. This home is reserved for confirmed guests only. (If someone local will be joining your group, even just for the day, they must be added to your total guest count.) *NO SHOES: We have hardwood floors and brand new carpet throughout the home. Please remove shoes at the front door. *GAS GRILL: The grill is available for you to use but you must agree to clean and replace foil after each use. *NO SMOKING. We do not allow smoking within 20 feet of the home as smoke can travel inside the home. *NO PETS. We are firm. There will be an additional $250 charge if evidence of a pet is found. *QUIET HOURS outside are from 10pm-7am. It is important to us that we are good neighbors, so please keep noise to a minimum when enjoying the fire pit or deck. *FOLLOW CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS. Checkout is anytime BEFORE 11am so that our cleaning staff may prepare for the next reservation. Instructions will be in the guest manual as well as sent in messaging prior to your departure. *FOLLOW FIRE-PIT RULES. Do not leave fire unattended at any time. Do not let children go near the fire pit. Always use roasting sticks when roasting marshmallows or hotdogs. No running in fire pit area. PROPAN COFFEE TABLE *Do not touch the propane coffee table when there is an active fire as it can burn your skin. Keep children away from the coffee table when an active fire is lit and at least one hour after the fire is out. Be sure to replace the lid and cover after the coffee table has cooled off for at least one hour. Do not roast marshmallows or attempt to cook any food over the coffee table. This should be reserved for the fire pit in the lower part of the yard. PROPANE TANKS: You must turn the propane tanks off after each use. DO not leave tanks on when not in use. The grill and outdoor coffee table contain propane tanks. CHILD EQUIPMENT: you assume liability of the baby gates, highchair, and pop and play. These must be used within accordance of the appropriate age children and guidelines/directions. We are not responsible for liability or injury. SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS: There are 5 unmonitored exterior security cameras (including one on the fire pit and propane coffee table for liability purposes. There are no cameras inside the home. Guest access Guests have 24 hour access to the entire home. Driveway parking for up to 4 cars with street parking for 2 more cars. We went down with a group from our church! And had a great time Mark was very responsive and was a great host!
My family and I had a great meet up at Mark’s place. It was perfect for the 12 of us. There was everything you would need to cook with, plenty of seating in the dining areas, a nice sun porch that was heated where we hung out and drank coffee in the morning, and plenty of space for us all to spread out. There are not sidewalks but we did walk the neighborhood each day and there was little traffic. Mark was quick to respond with any questions that we had. We want to go back in the summer and use the outdoor spaces.
Quiet upscale family neighborhood line with tall trees w hich is very walkable and friendly.
Best to have a car. Very convenient to Downtown and Farmers Market, as well as Rivermont and Boonsboro Avenue. Liberty is a 10-15 mins easy drive. Randolph is 5-10 mins down Rivermont. Starbucks is 5 mins away.
