We were very lucky in one way as we brought a huge snow with us which was what we wanted to see; this ski area is mainly for the locals and not very busy which is excellent if you want that authentic experience. Masaki’s place is very clean, and people we met were all very friendly. It’s not a place of luxury, of course, as the price reflects that but for our family, it’s exactly what we wanted. When we had extra requirements, Masaki was always quick to respond and gave help. We really appreciated his hospitality. Thank you Masaki!

Masaki was lovely and even picked us up from the bus stop. We didn’t know enough about this location and found getting there tricky, even when I speak Japanese. It’s a good idea to bring your own food. The accommodation has no food and is very very cold in all locations except for the bedroom. There is only one restaurant in town and it is warm but the food is basic and it’s a 10 minute walk to have breakfast or any other meal. There is no convenience store so if you have kids this is the only place to eat. I had a 13-yr old eating like a horse so it was challenging. The beds are futons on the floor, which is no problem, but the mattresses are thin, so if you’re not used to sleeping in the floor, be aware. We booked for 5 nights but unfortunately left after one night as we were freezing and hungry, and there was only one ski run open and we headed to Kyoto to the warm comfort of an onsen hotel. This would suit young backpacker type travellers on a serious budget.

８月3日から5日連泊でお世話になりました。 オーナーさんも、わざわざ気さくに挨拶しに来て下さりありがとございました！ 後、スタッフさんと5日の朝(キッチンで)、色々お話し聞かせて頂きありがとございます。パワフルで若くて 年齢聞いてビックリしました！ とても、快適に過ごさせて頂きました‼︎ 子供が中学3で最後のラグビー合宿ですが来年も泊まりたいね〜っと車で話しながら大阪へ 良い、思いで合宿になりました‼︎ ありがとごさいました。
