Brimley · 整套小木屋 · 2室0床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Cozy Lakefront Cabin on a Scenic Inland U.P. Lake
This cabin is located in the scenic Eastern Upper Peninsula and sits on Monocle Lake, nestled in the Hiawatha National Forest in Brimley, MI. You can walk to Lake Superior in just a few minutes, and Sault Ste. Marie, home of the world famous "Soo" Locks, is just a 30 minute drive away. The cabin overlooks the all sports Monocle Lake. Enjoy your vacation swimming, fishing, kayaking, biking, hiking the trails around the lake, or exploring the EUP and all of its' beauty! Enjoy making meals in a spacious, well equipped kitchen. You can dine on the kitchen "peninsula" or on the deck. Both bedrooms have very comfortable and well appointed queen size beds. The living area features a sofa and recliner where you can enjoy the view, a book, or watch TV. The bathroom has a shower and standard amenities. You'll have a spacious 20'x16' deck to enjoy, and a nearby fire pit too. Bag chairs are available in the deck-side shed. Although I can't guarantee it, I'll do my best to make firewood, charcoal, and lighter fluid available to you.
We chose this spot as a central location for various activities in Sault Ste. Marie and around Whitefish Bay, and it couldn't have been better for that. Very peaceful and quiet, but not difficult or out the way. We very much enjoyed the east walking access to the Forest Service land around Monocle and Spectacle Lakes, and the Iroquois Point lighthouse was a three-minute drive (if that). Jim and Christen were perfect hosts, very responsive but respectful of our privacy. Would definitely return for another stay in this area.
We absolutely loved our stay at Jim’s place. Everything was perfect with some nice little extra touches. We are excited to come back next time we are in the area. Highly recommend. Great friendly communication!
This was one of the best experiences I've had with AirBnB. Jim was phenomenal at communicating everything from start to finish. He has a beautiful place in a wonderful and peaceful area. The welcome gift basket was a first for me and very much appreciated. The shed was full of wood, grill necessities, chairs, and there was everything we needed and more available in the home. My daughters and my sister loved it as much as I did. Thank you, Jim, for the amazing week!
We had an amazing time. The cabin was super clean and comfortable. There were so many thoughtful details put into the cabin to make our stay special. Instructions were clear and Jim was very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay again and recommend this place to friends. The area was peaceful, beautiful, and there are many breath taking views and scenes to see very close by. We loved our stay!!
This is a quiet, friendly neighborhood . Lakefront homes exist on about 1/4 of the lake, and another 1/4 of the lakefront is part of a rustic campground, and public beach. The Hiawatha National Forest covers the rest and offers some beautiful scenery and fun hiking trails.
Sault Ste. Marie, MI, is about 30 miles East of Monocle Lake and is the home of the world famous “Soo Locks” and other local attractions. There is plenty of shopping in the “Soo”, including a Super Walmart and Meijer stores. From restaurants to tourism to shopping, there is plenty to do and see here.
A 45 minute drive to the west along Lakeshore Drive and the Curly Lewis Highway takes you to some breathtaking views of Lake Superior, and leads you to Paradise Michigan and the Tahquamenon Falls. Pendills Creek Fish Hatchery is also along the way.
In addition to the beauty of Monocle Lake, the Hiawatha Forest is also home to the Point Iroquois Light Station on the shores of Lake Superior. Nearby Bay Mills offers a Casino and a beautiful 18 Hole golf course, Wild Bluff.
