Stayed at The Granary, a cozy little cabin. Perfect place for a relaxed stay, overlooking a coffee/spice estate. The pictures don't do justice to the place. Entry into the estate is a steep slope but manageable. The hosts are really friendly and responsive, had some nice conversations and got plenty of recommendations for sight seeing and restaurants nearby. Would recommend staying at the place wholeheartedly.

We stayed at The Granary, one of the 4 cottages in Souland Estates. The estate is a beautiful 25 acre property, located in Thyagatoor, between Kushalnagar and Madikeri. The Granary is a 100 year old wooden cabin on stilts. The vibe of this particular cottage is rustic, which is what fascinated me when I made the booking. There’s so much to explore in and around the property. It’s away from human intervention, but this doesn’t prevent you from getting what you need because it’s all there! The entire property is extremely well maintained, clean and hygienic. The most amazing bedroom views, the best facilities (Wi-Fi, bathtub, books, board games), polite staff, and outgoing, welcoming, kind hearted owners makes this a perfect home-away-from-home kind of stay. The food was excellent to say the least. Their cottages are ideal for individuals, couples and families too. The location of the estate and vicinity to several tourist spots and cafés makes this a perfect getaway from city life.

A genuine estate stay, which is hard to find these days. The family lives on the same property and the whole vibe is warm and inviting. The cottage is clean, charming and perfect for a quiet weekend away. The food is exceptional and generous! The hosts are all heart and very welcoming. You can buy the coffee right there and they also make some great young wine, you can buy by the bottle. Goes well with porch in the middle of the plantation. The coffee estate connects to a village and has some great walking routes too. Prepare to watch hornbills on your walk :) There is no Vodafone network, but the wifi works well. All in all, a lovely home stay, conveniently located that will help you switch off for a few days. Highly recommend The Granary - which is a smaller cottage than their rest BUT most charming too.
