A perfect house for a romantic getaway or just a few days away to recharge. Just a short walk to the boulangerie, a lovely restaurant and beautiful village views. The house has everything you need for a stay, short or long, and is very homely; I'm definitely hoping to be able to stay again.

Two of us ladies stayed In the house , because it said there was a sofa bed, which there was but nowhere for clothes apart from the bedroom which was on the 2nd floor, which was a lot of up and down stairs. We had a problem with a water leak from a hand basin in the bathroom which dripped into the kitchen one floor below, I reported this to Jim immediately. It wasn’t a problem as such because there are two hand basins. Jim replied to say there are plans in action later to install a new bathroom in a few months time.

Jim's house really amazing traditional French house full of character. Well equipped. Very spacious. parking no problem. Everything you could need was there. Vertueil stunningly beautiful little town with Chateau right on the Charente river with shops cafe several restaurants and a bar. We really enjoyed our time there and exploring the surrounding countryside. Jim was great host .Overall a 5 star package.

Verteuil is a great location in itself, as well as a place to explore the local area from. The house is well-equipped, with excellent wi-fi and a lovely private terrace at the back. It is a very homely house, full of great books, videos and useful tourist information.
