The Western Quarters comprises of a ground floor and 1st floor apartment. It can accommodate up to 14 people and is ideal for groups who enjoy walking, cycling, climbing, caving, golf, wild-water swimming, car touring or just getting together! EXCLUSIVE use of gated large Car Park, EXCLUSIVE use of the two front gardens with stream frontage. EXCLUSIVE use of large barbeque and equipment and garden games (on request). EXLUSIVE use of lockable storage for bikes/golf clubs etc. The ground floor apartment (the Quarters) accommodates 6- it has 2 bedrooms, 1 fully fitted kitchen, 1 lounge with a bed settee and a wet-room with bath and shower. It is designed for full accessibility. The upstairs apartment above it (The Northern Quarters) sleeps 8-it has 3 bedrooms with the double being en-suit. It has another bathroom and a large social space with open plan fully fitted kitchen and lounge with a bed-settee.
Ray was a great host ! We were a group of 13 people and couldn’t have found a better and affordable place. 100% recommended.
We had 12 family members travelling from across the country and these two flats together worked beautifully for us including elderly/disabled access and facilities on the ground floor. The shared garden to the two flats gave a lovely outdoor space for our evening meal. Ray was super helpful showing us around and explaining the facilities. Spacious parking for our four cars too. Easy access to Lancaster. The rooms and beds were super comfy and clean and the kitchens easily catered for cooking for 12.

The Westerly Quarters is located in the village of Caton where there are 3 pubs and a co-op mini supermarket, a very good takeaway, 5 churches, a medical centre, pharmacy, a dog- grooming salon, hair stylists, a vets and garage. There is a regular bus service to Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale. The Ship Inn next door and the Station Hotel are both established traditional pubs that welcome hikers/cyclists/pets etc. There is also a 24hr MacDonalds a 4 minute drive towards Lancaster. The historic city of Lancaster itself is only 4 miles away.
There is a lovely path along the converted disused railway which drifts by the Lune into Lancaster - perfect for walking or cycling. Just a few miles by car or bus to historic Lancaster or traditional seaside at Morecambe, and a short drive to South Lakes. Within easy reach of the South Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, and Forest of Bowland, the apartment is the perfect base to explore the beautiful North West. There is a regular bus service to Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale, and Lancaster is on the Westcoast railway line with direct links to London, Edinburgh and Manchester airport.
