I stayed at Casa Luna for two months and absolutely loved it. The house is beautiful and the setting is serene. There's really good mobile data, so you can work fine from the house if you need to. The finca itself has everything you need - including delicious vegetables you can buy from Kate. And it's only a 30 minute walk to town if you want to visit a bar or restaurant. Kate has built a wonderful haven in the Alpujarras. I couldn't recommend it more.

It was a really incredible experience. It’s an experience because when you choose Kate’s cottage, you get more than just another accommodation. It is real luxury to be able to drink coffee in the morning, watch how fog cover the mountains; and in the evening cook ratatouille from fresh organic veg box in the cozy kitchen, from the window of which you can see the rosemary bush. Go out and cut some leaves to add to the dish. Besides the fantastic location, you can't help but feel how much effort and soul Kate put into creating this micro-universe. It is evident from the furniture and small things that the cottage is filled with; from how her finca is organized; what wonderful people the volunteers work here, and how much effort they put into saving nature. Special thanks to Anja and Jose for all their help. Communication with Kate was not only prompt but also very sincere, genuine and warm. 1000 limit… So the place and the host have a unique vibe, and my experience was like a movie. ❤️

Kate has done an excellent job of explaining exactly what to expect from a stay on her off grid finca. Her communication was always prompt, clear and helpful. The finca was exactly what I expected and my long term stay provided me opportunities to witness the exciting changes of the seasons. My accomodation was delightful and had everything I needed. When I expressed an interest, Kate even provided me with a very efficient solar cooker. Organic fruits and vegetables from the farm, delicious homemade sourdough bread, olive oil and other farm produce were all of excellent quality and available on request at reasonable prices. If your are looking for a peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by amazing views and a healthy living style, this place is perfect.

We stayed for almost three weeks in the Casa Luna cottage in mid and late October. The cottage is located in an excluded corner of the farm. Calm guaranteed. You have a whole part of the farm that you can use as your backyard with wonderful view on the mountains. Also a yoga yurt was available for use if needed and a natural pool to refresh and swim. For those who like to walk, there are little hikes that you can pick up directly from the farm, and other great hikes just a couple of minutes driving away (e.g. hike in Pampaneira or to the Old Mining Village). Kate is a very welcoming host, very responsive to requests. She also provides directly products from her farm, allowing you to live completely excluded from civilization if needed. The nearest supermarket is in Órgiva, a 10 minute drive or a 45 minute walk (there is also an organic supermarket in town). You can park your car in Bayacas town which is a 5 minute walk from the farm (you need to follow a small track to reach the farm). The cottage itself is very well equipped, with a well equipped kitchen, small bathroom, good bed, desk and comfy couch. In the style of the farm, electricity and energy usage has been limited. Keep in mind that there is only one plug in the apartment for phone charging. The shower is heated through a solar panel system, which gives good hot showers at the end of the day on sunny days, less on rainy days. As for us temperatures were going down at the end of October, we were particularly longing for a warm shower but was not always available. In line with the decreasing temperatures, the place is heated by a stove which works well, wood is available at the farm directly. The farm itself has chicken, cats, two donkies, and about 6 volunteers (+Kate) walking around to provide the necessary farm atmosphere :-) The farm is on a hill side by the way, with lots of olive trees and small pathways providing a really back to nature feeling. We were also free to pick pomegranates from the trees that were growing abundantly around us! All in all, we had a very nice back to the roots back to nature experience on Kate’s farm and we highly recommend to all who are seeking a similar experience or for those who just want to live a little excluded from the city :-)

Staying at Casa Luna was perfect, such a beautiful location, peaceful and really enjoyable to cook using veg grown on the farm. Kate provides a veg box at a reasonable charge. Perfect location for peace and relaxing in a natural environment.
