It has been an absolute joy staying at Nora’s. I got to watch spring happen right from the windows. The sunsets have been amazing. This was the perfect place for me as I started my new job! Thank you for the wonderful place to stay.

My friend and I had the most enjoyable and accommodating stay. While we locked our selves out at 10pm, came unprepared for the ice, and didn’t realize we had an air fryer and electric skillet, Nora went above and beyond. She let my friend and I cook our dinner in their personal kitchen, before we saw the cooking items in the Airbnb. She answered our call at 10pm to let us into their home and give us a spare key, and found us an ice scraper for us to use in the morning. Also not to mention, her husband put salt on the stairs either early in the morning or late that night. I truly haven’t been to an Airbnb what was so understanding and accommodating. We felt like family and welcomed by Nora and her husband.

5 stars! Thoughtful, comfortable, large space to relax and enjoy nature. Yes, winding roads to the top but Nora’s place has a special view and peace you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere! Coffee machine, refrigerator, microwave etc makes staying in and watching Netflix an awesome experience. My Mom and I stayed to unwind and enjoy family in the area. It was perfect!

Some years ago, my husband, Bob, and I dreamed of building a log home in the bluffs around our hometown of La Crosse, WI. We searched and searched, finally finding the perfect spot on a ridge and nestled in the woods, but just minutes to La Crosse. We built that log home, breathed a sigh of relief, and the dream became a reality. Fast forward twenty years: the kids grew and flew, the dogs crossed the Rainbow Bridge, I retired, and our place became too big for just the two of us. So, we had a decision to make: either downsize or turn that extra space into something useful. It was an easy decision, actually, and in 2022 we completed renovations on our lower level walk-out, making it into a private studio apartment. With a locked door separating the upper and lower levels of the house, a separate outdoor entrance for the apartment, and a secluded patio overlooking a shade garden and the nearby woods, the place turned out to be something special. I am the chief cook and bottle washer, and am responsible for all decorating, cleaning and sanitizing, restocking supplies and communicating with our guests. I also do a fair amount of gardening, drinking coffee and reading in my spare time! Bob has the very important job of making sure everything runs smoothly so that our guests have a great experience. Together, we think we make a good team!
