Kathrina was a very flexible and responsive host. The home was as advertised. Clean and comfortable. The home was a little hard to find but Kathrina was helpful with texts to guide us. She also allowed us to check in early. We appreciated the book with local suggestions for hikes and restaurants. Location was good for visits to both Grass Valley and Nevada City. There were a number of issues that were beyond the hosts control, like clear cutting of trees in the property just behind the house which made sitting outside unpleasant because of the noise. Also the power went out town wide and the garbage disposal broke and leaked. Kathrina had a person come to work on the disposal and sent us information about the town wide outage. The deck furniture was covered but did not seem to be cleaned for the season. The upstairs bathtub is a great design but difficult to shower in.

I would rate over 5 stars if I could. Kathrina was extremely accommodating and always considerate for us as guests. Initially Kathrina reserved her listing for us prior to our booking because I wanted to clarify with my family before booking if everyone was on board. Ultimately, we were all happy and wanted to book her cottage asap. After our booking, a huge blizzard / storm warning was issued and Kathrina considered our safety a priority and kept us updated with the weather reports and the potential conditions. We didn’t buy cancellation insurance unfortunately, but with the potential for worsening weather conditions Kathrina was extremely accommodating and even offered to reschedule and / or approve a cancellation last minute. We told her our plan was to give it a try to make it out there regardless and our group is so happy we did. It was a winter wonderland and I recommended staying at her beautiful and peaceful place. The place is even better than the pictures!

The house is absolutely beautiful! I felt like I was staying a high-end but cozy hotel. We rented the place for a "work retreat" and had plenty of space for focused work time. There's also a wonderful collection of books. The bedrooms and bathrooms felt clean and luxurious and the neighborhood is lovely. Kat was extremely responsive, friendly, and helpful; check-in and check-out was a breeze. I'd love to visit again and would definitely recommend it!

Kathrina's place was a neat home in Nevada City. Home was clean, comfortable and cozy. Great location surrounded by the trees and easy access to the Cascade trail. Nice outside deck and deck furniture and fire pit. Kathrina was very responsive and super accommodating to our family. Highly recommend her home when visiting the area.
