Great Tent, Van or Small Camper site. Enjoy camping with shade, expansive views & bright stars in the shadow of Mesa Verde Nat’l Park. We have an equipped central kitchen for your use, hot showers, bathrooms, drinking water, ice, propane grill, furnished pavilion, electricity, etc. Up to 6 guests & 2 tents. Two max vehicles for this campsite. 2 guests are included in the base price. It is $8 each for additional guests for amenities. Do not include children 5 yr & under, they are free. We are a privately owned family run campground on a 40 acre property just 5 miles from Main Street, Cortez and 22 min drive around to the entrance of Mesa Verde Nat'l Park. Phil's World MB trails are even closer! The area under the awning of SUNSET CAMPSITE is soft dirt and surrounding it is clean gravel. SUNSET does not have hookups but there is water and electricity on the Campground. PLEASE LOOK through the pictures to see what is included here at Bright Star Campground! Check in is from 3:30 - 10:30. Dogs & Cats are welcome, 3 max and must be on leash. WIFI, complimentary coffee, drinking water, many conveniences with your stay. We have firewood for sale (our firewood is reasonably priced. Fire bans are sometimes in effect in the late Spring - early Fall. Please ask. This was a great place to stay! I only stayed for a night while I was passing through but I wish I could have stayed longer. There are paved, lit walkways so getting around is easy at night. There are showers with hot water which was AMAZING. There is also a kitchen to cook and store meals in. The hosts were very responsive and helpful and I would stay here again!
Our family had a great time. The camp kitchen is excellent. We enjoyed sleeping beneath the stars and the stunning mountain views, and having access to all the amenities on site made our car camp experience very laid back.
A kind and hospitable camp. Many good memories made, I look forward to returning.
Nice campground with all the amenities. Was perfect to use as a home base for our adventures in the area. The camp hosts were so friendly and helpful. Made the stay even better. And when we needed to add a night to our stay, the hosts were really accommodating.
Beautiful campground, spectacular views, roads easily traveled, easily found with Apple Maps, and friendly staff!

This is a rural area with mostly 40 acre lots and some are residential. It is just 5 miles from downtown Cortez, Colorado where there are many restaurants, two grocery stores, a Walmart, and shops.
You need a vehicle although some people do come by bicycle.
