The Jennings is a beautiful hotel and a lot of thought has gone into the decor & furnishings in the rooms. If you're booking in the summer though you might want to be aware that the rooms do not have A/C and as they are all on the second floor it can get pretty warm. We were coming back to our room after hiking for the day pretty beat and there was unfortunately no reprieve from the heat. We slept poorly as the temperatures stayed high through the night (high of 90 while we were in Joseph). The room we were in also only had sheer curtains so we were woken up at sunrise both mornings.

My wife and I have stayed at the Jennings a few times now and have thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here and in Joseph. Greg is a very kind and hospitable host. If you have the opportunity to stay here, I’d highly recommend doing so.

There is so much to love about the Jennings! First off, Joseph is a world-class mountain town. Quaint and warm, with majestic natural beauty and lots of places to explore. As for the hotel itself, it is clearly a labor of love. There is a lot of intention put into curating a cozy, minimalist vibe. However, there were some issues during my stay. There were minor things like only having one bowl, zero kitchen linens, and COVID protocols in the sauna that were a titch dicey (a sign to indicate when the sauna area is occupied would fix the problem of unmasked folks walking in and using the adjacent shower). The biggest issue was the noise. There was some kind of major remodeling/construction happening downstairs. We're talking sustained, chest-vibrating noise for 2 out of the 3 days of my stay. A heads up to be prepared with earplugs or to check-in prior to booking. Otherwise, there is tons of potential here!
