L'Ombrière is a beautiful 18th-century residence located 5 km from the medieval city of Sarlat, and is 200 m from the tremendous Château de Montfort , which is also a fascinating village in the Dordogne valley. Beautiful panoramic views of the Dordogne Valley and close to the river and its swimming spots. Perfect starting point for visiting all the touristic sites of the region. 4 lovely bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and private toilet. The 2 attic rooms are equipped with AC. Our lovely house reflects the beautiful architecture and the typical ancient style of the Périgord region. We are located in the "Triangle Noir" renowned for clear night time skies. In every room you can wonder at the original wooden beams and the magnificent view over the Dordogne valley. The house will keep you cool in the summertime and warm and cosy during the wintertime. The 2 rooms in the attic are additionally equipped with air conditioning. There are no pools in the property however multiple swimming spots are available in the area: - "Le sentier des pêcheurs", walking distance (200 meters) from the house. Nice views of the chateau from the water. Not recommended for persons with reduced mobility. Water shoes are a good idea while swimming in the river. - "Plage de Caudon" 20 min walk, 8 min bike, 3 min drive - "Plage du Rocher de la cave", 12 min bike, 7 min drive - "Vitrac Port", 9 min bike, 4 min drive - and many others... The Dordogne river basin was recognized by UNESCO for its outstanding setting and natural heritage and added to the World Network of Biosphere Reserves. Many books and guides will be available in the living room. Be organized and plan in advance: During high season, the best restaurants require to call one week ahead to secure a reservation.
