South Launceston · 整套民居 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Walter Cottage: As Cosy as it is Convenient
This gorgeous little cottage is tucked away on a quiet street only a few minutes from the Hospital and CBD Situated in South Launceston, an area characterised by cute cottages, this is no exception. The cottage is designed with beautiful furnishings with a special focus on the 'little things'. The queen beds are comfy and the lounge room has the most wonderful oversized couch! Step seamlessly from indoor to outdoor living via the doors from the lounge, which lead out onto the paved patio. A flat property with no stairs this home offers all the things you could possibly want in a short stay accommodation. During your stay you will have access to the whole property. The home is renovated to include a modern bathroom and fully appointed kitchen, it also boasts two bedrooms, a living area, a small back deck and a large front paved area to enjoy entertaining or just having a beverage in the sun. The bathroom is off the kitchen through the laundry and also opens up into bedroom one via a barn door. There is a slight gap in this door due to the barndoor style. The property is fully fenced and has under cover parking in a carport, which is a huge bonus for this area! It also means you can enjoy the BBQ area at the front of the property in total privacy. We love to host children as well. You will find necessary items including a portacot, highchair and even some toys for the little one! With heating available in the bedrooms and the lounge the house is warm in winter and the aircon and fans keep the house cool in summer. There is also both a washer and a dryer for your convenience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! This is a beautifully kept property with lots of character. It’s comfortable, warm, clean and child friendly. The location was perfect for us; quiet and private, yet close to everything we needed. The host was responsive and made us feel at home. Thanks for having us!
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was great (we did drive most places as we had young kids but you could easily walk). We felt at very at home and the facilities were great.
Walter Cottage exceeded expectations. It was beautifully furnished, with extra decorative touches. A washing machine, dryer and a dishwasher - instructions to place our dishes through a cycle as we went out the door. Love this as it ensures a high standard of cleanliness. There was nothing else we needed to make it a very enjoyable stay. The beds were so comfy, and in a very quiet (all be it narrow) street. The remote controlled gate was a fabulous idea, and made us feel very secure. We were very impressed with the prompt communication, as we (two couples) were a last minute booking. A huge "Thank You" to those who were involved at short notice. Highly recommend and would love to return
South Launceston is a lovely and diverse suburb, known for its mining cottages built in the early 1900's. Being the first suburb South of the city, South Launceston is only a short walk or drive into Launceston’s city centre. With this hard-to-beat location, South Launceston provides you with access to many eateries, retail shops, amenities and Launceston’s city centre with ease.
Whilst exploring the suburb, we recommend stopping in to Guerrilla drive-through coffee to start your day. Wellington Street runs through the suburbs centre, with popular restaurants, take-aways, hairdressers, beauty salons and boutiques branching off either side. You'll be spoilt for choice for food and drink options, with many food vans serving up delicious goodies each day.
Nearby, you will find the Door of Hope facility housing Launceston's most popular gym, a café, a childcare centre, conference facilities and a church.
Coronation park, containing a sporting oval and small playground, is located in South Launceston. Other local parks include Princes Square, full of historical fountains, and the City Park which is known for its beautiful oak tree gardens, playground for the children, a plant-filled conservatory and cheeky snow monkeys.
Wander down to Launceston’s city centre, where you will find yourself surrounded by many of Launceston's most iconic historical buildings. You will find many tasty cafés and restaurants, an array of shops and boutiques and a vast range of cocktail bars and pubs.
South Launceston provides you with easy access to the Launceston General Hospital, and Charles Street, where you are sure to find many eateries and bars. Other restaurants and bars of note include The Black Cow Bistro, Cataract on Paterson, Café Mondello, Novaro's and Cinco Passione's, who serve up arguably the most tasteful cocktails in the city.
The Cataract Gorge is a spectacular natural formation where you can enjoy long and short walks, fresh water swimming basins, the world's longest single-span chairlift, a play area, BBQ’s and vibrant peacocks! An additional, unique way to experience this attraction is via the Tamar Cruise vessel, which cruises through the waters that carve between the rocky formations.
