It was an absolute pleasure staying at Rylan and Sheira's place, so great that I booked two weekend retreats back-to-back with two separate groups of friends. You can tell how much thought went into the design of the space - it's perfectly laid out for large groups, with 4 private bedrooms and an awesome shared bunk room; a huge open kitchen/living space with bar stools at the large kitchen island, chairs/bench at the dining table, and a huge comfy sectional for everyone to hang out on. The kitchen was fully outfitted with anything you might need to cook and prepare meals. There was a ton of parking, a spacious front deck (which I'm sure is amazing in warmer months!) and a firepit that we enjoyed. Rylan and Sheira were both responsive and friendly to speak with, SO accommodating and helpful, and overall great hosts. I definitely hope to visit the Captain's Hideaway again in the future!

The cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. The lake had a lot of algae but was otherwise great for swimming. the hiking nearby was beautiful and the canoe rentals were also great.
