This is a terrific rental, great location and and an airy and spacious unit. A lot of stairs as others have mentioned, but offers privacy which is nice. The beds are very comfortable, although the couch is not (too firm). Kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked and were immaculately clean. Two minor negative comments, the listing includes “Free parking on premises” which we thought would mean a designated parking spot or driveway, but in fact this just means street parking which is free, but was not always available to us close by the unit. The other issue was the key code did not work when we arrived and we had to wait to get another one, and we added a day to our reservation and again the key code failed to work on the last day and we were waiting outside in the cold again for another code to be sent. I don't know how this system is supposed to work, but it seems it could be handled more smoothly.
A wonderful place to stay. Great location! And Joanne was very responsive to our request for early check in and other questions we had!
Joanne's townhouse in Ballard actually exceeded my expectations relative to the listing. It's hard to tell from the photos but the house's layout is spread across three different floors and a rooftop, which gives the house a nice feeling of spaciousness despite it not having a ton of square footage. The private roof deck is nicer than it looks in the photos and all the bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and well-stocked. Our two young kids loved having a park and playground right across the street and there are some good breweries, food trucks and coffee shops within close walking distance. We didn't have any issues parking within a block of the house and if you need an EV charger, there's a Fred Meyer a 5 minute drive away with level 3 chargers. Overall we had a great stay here and will definitely book Joanne's place again in the future if it's available.
Joanne’s place was conveniently located in the heat of Ballard. It was easy to walk to restaurants, breweries, and grocery stores. If you are looking for a place to sleep and spend most of your day out - this would be a good option. Some of the things to be aware of for this property: -while you access the property from a quite street, the unit itself backs up against a very noisy street and next to multiple construction sites. It is not quiet. -there are not great remote work areas in the unit. There is a very small desk in the master bedroom (top floor) and there is a pretty small multi-use dining table. -the beds were comfortable but the rest of the furniture left something to be desired. The couch was the firmest couch I’ve ever sat on. For our needs of working remotely and spending the majority of our day in the property, it wasn’t very comfortable. But, as I said early, if you’re spending most of your time exploring - this would be a good option.
This home is in Ballard, a hip and trendy neighborhood northwest of downtown Seattle. Many bars, ice cream shops, tea and coffee parlors, and access to a lovely beach park at Golden Gardens. Ballard Ave is the key retail street. If you stay here on Sundays, don't forget to check out the farmers on Ballard Ave!
The home is very close to central Ballard (Market Street) and is walking distance to food & shopping options. The main road also has plenty of bus stops. If you are exploring the rest of Seattle, getting a car / uber is a better option. The home does not provide a dedicated parking but free street parking is generally available.
