The Crab Pot has been a treasure in our family for over four generations, we are now opening our cottage door to invite you in. 180 degree view, The Crab Pot perches on south sands beach, towering slightly above the high tide, close enough to hear the rumble of the waves underneath whilst you relax in the window seat. The Crab Pot is an ideal getaway for families or couples looking to escape to the coast, it is as close to sleeping on the beach under the stars with home comforts as you can get. A fun, family, small cottage on the beach. Much loved by our families. Originally a lime kiln 200 years ago, then a fisherman's hut, a gun emplacement during the war. A lot of history, the lime kiln is now your modern kitchen.

Wow, outstanding place. we absolutely loved the Pink Cottage on the beach. We walked to the beach in seconds for a very early morning swim. each morning. The ferry to Salcombe was regular and super easy. the walks and scenery were divine and we quickly became 'hill fit'. We would love to return and bring a kayak and paddle boards for more water fun. We had the best time. thanks Mary for being an amazing host and having such a wonderful property.

What a wonderful stay. A lovely setting in a beautiful location. Wish we had booked for the whole week. Thank you to our host Mary. As a family of four with two young children this worked well but next time we’ll bring bed guards and slippers as it gets pretty sandy! I blame the kids :)
What an amazing place. Had a fantastic stay here whilst walking some of the coastal path with some girlfriends. Sleeping arrangements worked for us as happy to share but really suits a family with small children or very very close friends! We will be going back. What a view !

The cottage is set on South Sands beach and has The South Sands Hotel and The Harbour Beach Club and Hotel nearby, both wonderful places to have a meal or a drink overlooking the sea. Alternatively walk to North Sands to the Winking Prawn. Fabulous walks over Bolt Head and a ferry running into Salcombe during the summer season.
You can unload your car at the top of a footpath then park in a nearby farm with a parking permit supplied. There is a ferry that takes you from the beach outside the Crab Pot to Salcombe in the summer months that runs every half hour or the beautiful walk into Salcombe only takes 30 minutes.
