We really liked the place and it's just as the hosts described it. It's tucked into the woods so you could feel the serenity & hearing the river from outside is a nice touch. You can also go down to the river and if it was warmer we would have dipped in. We had trouble with a few things like internet when we first got there but Emalie & Brian were very responsive & resolved everything. They also have a booklet with info including trails & whether they were easy, moderate, etc which was great.

We had a great time in Ojai and appreciated the surrounding beauty. This place served our needs, it was clean and the beds were comfortable. If you are looking to be a bit outside of town (about 10-15 min) and be more secluded, this is the perfect place. We did notice an incredibly stinky smell our last day-I think a neighboring RV's sewage perhaps? Areas for improvement: the water took a long time to warm up (had to turn the shower on to get the water to get warm) and the description hadn't disclosed that there were people living in the unit above. They were quiet and we could barely hear them, but it did make the place less secluded feeling. Overall, we appreciated the home and Emalie and Brian were great, very responsive and helpful hosts!

This was a last minute booking for one night. Emalie & Brian were very accommodating and got us checked in quickly. We had a great time and I highly recommend this location for those who want to get away.

Really, really cute place! The teen remarked, “wow look how spacious.” And of course immediately set up the star projector. The husband added, “well this is cool.” High marks from the family indeed! Great clean bathtub. Neat bonus was the interesting books and games and tchotchkes etc! Plenty of cozy blankets. Smart choice of lovely, spacious daybeds in the living room. Off the beaten path in a good way! *Because it is a bottom unit, may want to bring headphones. Certainly wasn’t rowdy noise by any means and all was quiet at a reasonable hour, but just in the event you are traveling with someone who’s highly sensitive to noise.

The unit is very clean and the communication was excellent. The bed and couch were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed. It's fairly simply decorated. The overall location is nice, though it's unfortunate that the windows look directly into the parking lot for the upstairs unit (which had a big truck), so not much privacy or feeling of being immersed in nature. All that would have been fine if it weren't for the really bad sulfur smell in the unit, which is why I'm leaving 4 stars. Apparently there's a hot spring nearby and this happens occasionally. So while I appreciate this isn't their fault, it was still very frustrating to have such a bad smell in the unit when I went there to relax after a long day. They kindly gave me a partial refund and said this doesn't happen often, but it happened to me, and thus I am truthfully reporting it and rating the place accordingly. I would not stay there again for this reason, even though everything else was great.
