First off this was my first Airbnb so i had no idea what to expect so i was pretty anxious to experience the outdoors from the comfort of a secure room. If you dont look up what the place looks like it can be a little confusing where to go but the host was great with directions. Parking was also a little confusing as we thought we were to park where the numbers were and we were supposed to park right before the hotel to the right. It says parking first come first serve but there was only 2 other cars so we didnt have a hard time. When we arrived we were just jaw dropped over the scenery! I can imagine its amaing in the snow but the summer was just as gorgeous! Lots of beautiful mountains to get lost staring at and many trails near by to get to the top of the moutains which we saw lots of people riding bikes and taking their dogs out. We had 3 different codes to get in which was nice for security purposes. Once in the room we noticed it was clean and had nice beds and dressers although we didnt use the dressers the beds were comfortable and clean. Plenty of towels were provided. Bathroom was also clean and the shower had a nice water pressure. If your going in the summer i would suggest bringing a fan since the room stays warm to hot with no air conditioning and no fans anywhere in the room. Plenty of blankets and an extra space heater was in the closet so im guessing it gets really cold in the winter and a fan probably isnt neccessary. My two small kids stayed in one bed and my husband and i in the other. There is no kitchen but a small fridge, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker is provided. There is a TV and wifi which we needed for distant learning. I liked the bears on the lamps i thought was a nice touch to the woods look. The view out the window was beautiful looking at the moutains, we definitely enjoyed the mornings as the sun comes in. There is a general store so dont forget your masks! Customer service was great and helpful. None of the ski lifts were operating but it was nice to see how far up the mountains they go. Once you leave Kirkwood there was little to no signal so set your GPS ahead of time. Just 7 mins away is caples lake which is great for fishing, boating, and swimming. 45 mins is south lake Tahoe. Plenty to see and stop at in between. Thank you to the host for answering all our questions and being available over the phone at a moments notice!

Great room, with an amazing view! Would definitely recommend for a weekend get away

I will start with what we did enjoy, the views of the mountains are nice, the beds were comfortable. The entrance is very dark when coming at night definitely will need flashlights. In the daytime the entrance looks like an abandoned hotel. The entire room was very dusty. Room was hot at night, no fans no a/c.

Great location next to the Kirkwood lifts! Enough kitchen amenities (coffee maker for hot water, toaster, microwave) to make mid-ski-day hot lunches.
