This place is an absolute treasure! Beautifully situated right on the sound, my husband and I enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the birds and other wildlife. On top of that, Tina's place was fully-stocked. From the kitchen, games, kayaks, and everything else, there was literally nothing else I could have asked for. On our last night, we were missing an ingredient for our dinner and the onsite host actually came and dropped some off for us so we didn't have to take the ferry and go all the way to the store. Our only real "issue" was the sleeping situation. We wanted to sleep in the master bedroom which had the AC unit and on-suite bath, but had to sleep in the smaller room because it was the one with the king bed. Without the AC unit in that room, it got hot It is very secluded and private - which is great. Just make sure that you bring everything you need to the island. On our way off the island, we had to wait almost an hour and half for the ferry, which was a little frustrating.

We went for a quick weekend getaway at the Ostrich Nest, and wish we had stayed longer. Hosts were super responsive and gave detailed instructions for the Herron Island ferry, the home and hot tub. Incredible views from the house, decks and hot tub across the water with your own private beach and plenty of water toys. The kitchen was well stocked and they even provided wood for the wood fireplace. They are dog friendly and Booker was thrilled with the blankets and treats/ toys they leave for your pup. Everyone on the island was friendly and waved as you walked along the beaches looking for wildlife like seals, eagles, and the local deer. We can't wait to come back again with friends to share this special place.

Had a great time for our weekend getaway! If we do make our way back (from BC CA) we will have to make it a longer stay! Exactly as described.
