An eccentric hut that oozes beach bum charm and is just minutes from the sandy expanses of Northumberland Heritage Coast. A beach hut with a Northumberland twist, set four miles from the golden sands of Cheswick beach. From waterskis mounted on the bedroom wall to a driftwood mobile in the bathroom, and evocative deckchair striped fabric curtains framing the living room, the Beach Hut is pure beach charm. The property delivers all the fun of hut living while adding space, comfort and mod-cons. GROUND FLOOR Open plan living area with galley kitchen with an electric two ring hob, a microwave, under-counter fridge, toaster, kettle and DAB radio. There is a dining table and seating for four guests and a ‘real flame effect’ electric stove. Please note that there is no washing machine. Bedroom (separated from the living area by a sliding door) with one double (4'6") bed. Shower room with electric shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC. FIRST FLOOR A companionway ladder leads to a first floor mezzanine sleeping area for two children with two single beds which are 3’ x 6’3”and 3’ x 5’ (the latter has an optional extension when slid into the middle of the floor to make it full length). An external set of steps leads from the mezzanine level for fire safety and to allow for external access. Due to the access to the mezzanine level, it is not suitable for children under six years old. Please note the mezzanine level is not full height. OUTSIDE Large decked area with outside dining furniture and a fire pit. The Beach Hut sits in a paddock with three shepherd’s huts: Foxglove, Teasel and Cow Parsley, each sleeping up to four guests. Please note, there is not designated enclosed space around each individual shepherd's hut. BABIES & CHILDREN The ground floor area is suitable for babies and children. A travel cot and/or camp bed can be provided on request. Please supervise children when using the ladder to the mezzanine level. The inner paddock where the hut is located is fully enclosed, however the adjoining field has a pond and younger children will require supervision around this area. Guests can also hire Colin, a cutesy retro caravan at £20 per night (subject to availability) where the younger members of the family can have their own little mini adventure - a fun den for day use but set-up for sleeping capacity too! PARKING No vehicle access is permitted in the paddock where the huts are located. Parking sits to the left of the farm entrance which is approximately 50 yards from the site entrance. DOGS Two dogs are welcome with a charge of £15 per dog. Dogs must be clean and dry before access into the hut and must be kept off the beds. An outside tap is available. The inner paddock where the hut is located is enclosed, but dogs should be kept on a lead around the livestock. Please note, there are three other huts in the paddock, and there is not enclosed designated space around each individual shepherd's hut. Long dog leads are available onsite to keep your pets close-by your own shepherd's hut. The owner has chickens onsite which do occasionally fly over into the paddock. It is highly recommended that dogs are supervised for this reason. WI-FI & MOBILE COVERAGE Wi-Fi available. Mobile reception is generally good. GUEST AMENITIES Bed linen, towels and guest toiletries are provided. A hair dryer is supplied. HEATING The hut has electric tubular heating. GUEST PRIVACY & ADDITIONAL ACCOMMODATION The paddock is shared with three shepherd’s huts: Foxglove, Teasel and Cow Parsley with a wide-open aspect across the adjoining field. WATER SUPPLY Water is from a private supply borehole and is suitable for drinking.
Very pretty location and cosy for a couple and dog. Adjacent to the best of Northumberland.
The huts are well located for exploring the local area, sitting approximately 4 miles from the stunning Northumberland coastline and around 12 miles from the Northumberland National Park.
The Beach Hut sits approximately 3.5 miles from the village of Lowick where you can buy a range of provisions from the well-stocked village store, including freshly baked bread, cakes and scones as well as lovely local produce. 10 miles and 10.5 miles respectively will take you to the charming villages of Belford and Wooler where you will find a good selection of small town shopping, as well as a selection of eateries, inns and pubs. Alternatively a more extensive range of amenities, including large supermarkets, can be found in Berwick-upon-Tweed just a short 7.5 mile drive away.
