We very much enjoyed our five night stay at Casa Relva da Mó. The property is well renovated with everything you could need and has an incredible view of the Serra. There are several beautiful poços (water holes) and praias fluvieis (river beaches) nearby for swimming. The host (Joana) was respectful and helpful throughout. One point worth noting is that this is not a standalone rental house but the top half of a house split into two apartments, each independent but with some shared outdoor space and facilities. So, the success of your stay is somewhat dependent on the other guests present at the same time (for example, we were woken in the night by the other guests which was unfortunate given how quiet and calm the surrounding area is in general). A couple of notes on the surrounding area: for food, there is one minimercado and one bar in Alvares around 10 mins drive away and the small mountain roads are a bit tricky at night so when the hosts helpfully recommend to bring supplies with you for the first night, it’s a good idea to take their advice on board.
