Lavande our 2 bedroom gite is one of 4 gites in a barn conversion situated on the lower level. Recently renovated with a new kitchen area, it has a contemporary feel whilst retaining its rustic charm, offering comfort for a relaxing holiday. The gite looks out to beautiful gardens and is set amongst 4 acres of well tended grounds with a south facing shared swimming pool and spacious sun bathing area. We offer sunbeds, parasols, tables and chairs, ping pong, badminton and a BBQ area with 2 BBQ's

Absolutely wonderful week in Lavande gite. Comfy beds, plenty of space to sit/relax both indoors and out, kids loved the pool and huge grounds (and the Netflix)! The setting is beautiful, location is fantastic close to St Cyprien for amenities (supermarket/petrol etc), restaurants, brilliant markets and so much to see and do within 20-30 minutes - barely scratched the surface in a week! Highlights were the Sunday market at St Cyprien, Beynac, Domme, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle and the night market. Kids loved Airparc and the Via Ferrata at Jardins de Marqueyssac (for adrenaline seekers!). Canoeing on the Dordogne was an amazing experience. Jean is an amazing host - nothing is too much trouble, and her local knowledge and suggestions made our trip even more special. Missing it already.
Très bon accueil, Jeanie est toujours disponible et très réactive. Le gîte est bien placé pour visiter la vallée de la Dordogne. Piscine et activités extérieures au top pour les petits et les grands ! Nous y avons passé une excellente semaine.

Nous avons apprécié visiter le Périgord noir depuis le gîte de Jeanny. Le logement est idéalement situé pour découvrir les châteaux au bord de la Dordogne et les grottes de Lascaux, entre autres. Il est très bien équipé et entretenu. Le plus, une grande propriété avec piscine et espaces de détente. Enfin, Jeanny a été une hôte remarquable et ça a été un réel plaisir d'échanger avec elle!
Maravillosa casa de campo cerca de la Dordogne. Pasamos 7 días inolvidables con nuestros 3 hijos de 12, 10 y 7 años. Además de la piscina y una barbacoa al lado de la piscina, la casa dispone de grandes zonas verdes con la posibilidad de practicar varios deportes como el badmington, el ping pong, la petanca o el futbol. Jean dispone de todos los elementos para poder jugar a estos deportes. Los niños disfrutaron mucho de la piscina, de los espacios verdes y de una estancia en el campo. La casa muy limpia y muy cuidada con toda clase de detalles. Se nota que Jean cuida mucho todos los detalles y esta muy pendiente de que la estancia sea lo más agradable posible. A la llegada Jean nos obsequió con una botella de vino de la región y una botella de agua con burbujas. Altamente recomendable la estancia tanto para familias con hijos como parejas. Gracias Jean por todo!!

Close to St Cyprien's with it's famous Sunday Market 4km, and its many restaurants, bars, boutiques, shops and supermarkets. We are situated 800 metres from the River Dordogne, with all its sports and leisure activities. Minutes from the stunning castles and Beaux Village de France - Ancient Berbiguieres village with it's 12th century chateaux and church is 2km, Chateau des Milandes 6km, Beynac Castle 12km, Castelnaud 14km, Roque-Gageac 17km, Sarlat 24km. Take in the prehistoric sites at Les Eyzies 13km, and visit the museum or take in a cave or ten. Escape to a few of the many medieval Bastide towns and Beaux Village de France. Enjoy stunning and far reaching views from Belves 10km or Domme 20km. Excellent hiking and cycling opportunities through ancient woodlands.
Laugerie Basse is in the fortunate position of being a rural retreat, without being isolated, set in the Dordogne's 'Golden Triangle' region and is central to everything you could wish to do or see, while holidaying in this most beautiful part of France.

I have visited this area for many years and fell in love with this beautiful place, I love nature and nothing could be more perfect than living here. I decided to have a complete lifestyle change and moved from the UK May 2021 to follow my dreams of living and working here in France. I have two grown up sons called James and Matthew who have spent several holidays here with me before I decided to make the move. They are delighted and will be spending many holidays here with their partners and friends! The move here was made easier as my sister Jillian and her partner Nigel live about a minute away from Laugerie Basse with their dog Elon, which is fantastic and I have a cat called Miska .. it's fun when the dog and cat meet!! So it's very much a family affair here as my folks visit as well and enjoy this beautiful place. I love walking along the Dordogne river as the views are stunning in all seasons and it's very peaceful, there are lots of fantastic walks here to enjoy. I am happy to suggest good walks or even show guests a lovely walk locally. I also enjoy cycling, swimming, canoeing and meditation and it's the perfect place here at Laugerie Basse to enjoy all of these activities.
