This was supposed to be an upgrade to a luxury unit with view of pool. Luxury is subjective. In our opinion, it wasn’t. View from every window was of parking lot, road, and metro train station with beeping and other noise 24/7. Furniture was tired looking and sofa/futon back would not lock so wasn’t usable. Contacted Haus and never came out. Lamp shade was coming apart and a bathroom door was cracked and the “patched” towel rack coming off wall. End table in bedroom extremely wobbly due to loose and missing screws. Reported it and no response. Minimal kitchen supplies and no dish towels. Bath towels and washcloths were poor quality and no hand towels. Towels and linen were stained. There was only 1 key fob so we could not split up and do different things because someone would not have access to building. Reviews indicated others experienced the same bait and switch. Apparent upgrade. Pictures from living room do not match reality.

Pros: place was very clean and had good building amenities with gym, pool, and secure access to building. Good space for family of four. Beds were large and comfortable. In a very convenient area to get to all attractions and parts of city easily. Cons: The host communication was a mess. They gave lots of instructions for arrival but when we arrived super late at night, instructions were wrong with no access to lockbox they described and phone number they gave was disconnected. They did respond quickly that night through app. Then we communicated several times about a broken garage access key and a broken garbage disposal. They said they would come and fix both but NEVER did even after multiple contacts about it. Ghosted in responding until we were checking out. Place was fine. Living room furniture is super uncomfortable and basic supplies were there but low quality. It was a fine landing spot for our family for exploring San Diego but definitely needed some better management.

This particular unit did not match the photos in the listing. Description included pool view from balcony, but unit is next to metro station, a bit noisy, but didn’t ruin stay. Initially, I booked another unit from Haus. Then I was offered a ‘complimentary upgrade’ from them to THIS unit listing. I viewed the listing and declined the offer. I felt my initial booking from them suited my preferences better. Hours before check in, I was informed my initial booking had damages from previous guest and was left to accept this listing again. Story doesn’t feel right, but had no other choice. Both bedrooms had comfortable king size beds. Both bathrooms were clean & functional. 2nd set of towels had stains from previous use (likely make up?). Instructions to obtain keys were incorrect, along with address listed on Airbnb versus what they sent via message. Garage opener was broken, so we couldn’t utilize that perk. No iron, even when requested. Expected the basics, like paper towels in kitchen.
