The house is set in the middle of a farm which was not an issue; however, part of the road getting there was crossing a pond dam with overgrown tree branches crowding the road. The beds had thin hard mattresses which were very uncomfortable. The ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms was so noisy it could not be used at night. There were no extra bath towels and not enough washcloths. I requested these from the host, but since there was no response I bought my own at the Dollar General. No extra kitchen trash bags were provided. One of the wicker kitchen chairs was broken and unsafe to use. The cockroach infestation in the kitchen was awful. We killed 10-12 each evening after having the lights off. This forced us to wash the dishes and utensils before we used them and store them in ziplock bags to keep them safe to use. The only reason we stayed is because it was our son’s wedding weekend and we didn’t have time to hassle with new arrangements.

The house is beautiful. The land is beautiful. Before checkin I got a message from the owner saying they would be in and out of the property at their leisure to do things on the farm. I thought that was odd considering we rented a house on 80 acres and never in description did it say the owners would be in and out. I enjoy my privacy. Although we never saw the owners that rubbed me the wrong way. Also in the welcome text it said the pond was not functioning and could not be used. The advertisement says a pond with pics of a full working pond on the property. We had planned on taking the kids fishing. The pond was almost dried up. It had been like that for some time. That should have been mentioned in the description of the home/property also. The bathtubs in 2 bathrooms were stained to the point we didn’t feel comfortable bathing the kids in them. So we had to shower all 4 kids. The hot water ran out VERY fast. We had 4 adults and 4 kids. I personally did not get a hot shower there

If you love the outdoors, this is the place to stay! The land is so beautiful, and it is so calming/relaxing. The nature sounds were incredible as well!

The place is uniquely decorated inside and plenty of room to spread out. They say it's a working farm but thankfully no one was there working when we were there, as the trackers was near the house. Make sure to inquire if the BBQ grill and fireplace are operational before booking if this is some you use. I didn't get a chance to use the big soaker tub as it was a bit cool for it. The master bedroom was a bit chillier at night than the other rooms but there are plenty of blankets.

The land and house were so beautiful!
