Step away from the grind & relax in Serenity. The Serenity Shack is a pristine garage apartment minutes from the beach, park, marina, trails, shops & restaurants. The property's night sky has a view of the Milky Way that will take your breath away. Expect complete privacy for your stay, though the manager resides next door if have any questions. *Road has heavy daytime traffic so not suited for all children.* The main floor features a full kitchen & bath. The second floor has a queen open-loft style bedroom, a full Jack-and-Jill bathroom with clawfoot tub, a second bedroom with television, an extra-long twin bed, a queen-size memory foam sofa bed, and a private entrance above a secluded shaded patio. The upstairs rooms are connected so the space works best for close friends/family. If need be, for additional privacy, the upstairs bathroom and back bedroom may be closed off and accessed from the outside patio stairs. A secluded wooden patio with an outdoor table, seating, and umbrella is available for use. The backyard is a beautiful area surrounded by trees and birds, and open for guests to use at their leisure.

This place was amazing! Had everything you could need during your stay. Super cute place. My only cons would be bring your own pillows. The pillows they provide are super super thin. The only other con is that they didn’t explain that this place is actually connected to their house that they live in. It wasn’t an issue at all and they we respectful of our privacy but it was slightly weird to find out how close we were to them with the front doors being side by side. Just something I would point out for people who prefer to not stay in places like that. Overall a great place though and I would stay again!

The space was well designed with just enough space for our family. Bathrooms are large and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies. We love it!

My wife and I stayed at James' for a few days, and we had a wonderful experience. James was not there so we dealt exclusively with his mother, Janet. She was and a wonderful hostess; very welcoming and friendly. The place is just as advertised. Everything is clean and in good working order. The bed and furniture are comfortable. The location is good for exploring and convenient to the shops and restaurants in Northport, as well as other nearby towns. We enjoyed our stay and recommend James' place without hesitation.

The location is ideal to visit all over the peninsula. The unit is very clean. We enjoyed our stay.

The highly praised Fischer's Happy Hour Tavern is one mile down the road. Be sure to tell them you're staying at the Serenity Shack! The broasted chicken dinner is a family favorite, and the fish platters are fresh and fabulous. Much of their menu is seasonal and locally sourced so people travel quite a while to eat at this historic, family-owned establishment. Even Martha Stewart gave them a rave review.
Northport also offers amazing wineries and organic produce.
Sunsets at Peterson's Park are a must, and Fridays in Northport's Marina Park feature live music at the gazebo.
For fun lake rentals (boats, paddle boards, etc.) visit North Shore Outfitters.
