Loved staying at the surf shack! Very memorable experience. We camp a lot so this was an upgrade for us with a nice clean, quiet place to sleep instead of the back of our 4 runner. Scooter was very friendly, communicative and just a good character all around. The shack was in a great location in Rodanthe close to the pier. We liked staying in Rodanthe because you are kind of in the middle if you want to go down to Avon and Hatteras or drive up to Nags Head. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a comfortable place with character where you can adventure during the day and come to lay your head at night and take a nice outdoor shower with sea breeze included :) Awesome spot for a great price.

We had a wonderful 5-day stay at Scooter’s shack. He was more than gracious, even lending us his bikes. The beach was a 2 minute bike ride away and the outdoor shower (with hot water) was very convenient. We couldn’t recommend this place more!

My Sister and I really enjoyed our time here. Really felt like home. Everything you need to have fun is walking distance. The views was beautiful. We really enjoyed grabbing food and having picnic on the beach or on the porch at the Shack. Scooter made sure that we had everything we need. And even let us check in early. I can't wait to come back.
