I'd like to state up front that this place is pretty much as advertised. Quaint little house right on the water, the view out the window in the morning was stunning. The reason i'm leaving a 3 star review instead of a 5 star is as follows: 1) No toilet paper provided (it is stipulated that it's not provided on a phone picture of a piece of paper that the owner texts you in fine print) 2) No bedding - same thing, was warned but read the fine print 3) $180 cleaning fee yet renters have to bring their own bedding, make the bed back to where they found it and put away their dishes and take out the trash. What exactly are they cleaning for $180 the carpet? Decent rate for a beachside place in west michigan.

Such a cozy place with a gorgeous view! The water was wonderful and the autumn trees were a treat. The sandy beach was spacious and soft. Mike gave very detailed instructions.

The property is in a beautiful location right off the beach, but the house itself had very little to work with. Kitchen not well stocked, no washer/dryer on premises, and the bedding/ sofa pillows smelled as if they hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. Also, the description of the third bedroom did not at all match the reality of it. Bedrooms small, no closet space. Shower stall extremely small. Many of the stores and businesses in surrounding towns closed, and no hiking nearby that we were able to find. Had to drive a distance to get into nature and that surprised us. Michigan overall seems to be a summer state.

Well off the beaten path, it's exactly what we wanted for relaxing. It's a decent drive to get to any stores but that's what we wanted. Only about 30 min to get to a bigger town to go out etc. But we came to relax and it was very peaceful, had the beach completely to ourselves only saw maybe 3 people over our days there ( mid September). Photos are a little outdated as the deck had been moved and to be honest it's in better condition than I thought from the pictures. I'm sure at peak season there would be more people around but we got the quiet time we wanted. Mike sent extensive information ahead of our trip and we didn't need anything else from him but I could tell he would be attentive if needed. Lots of stairs as the house is on top of a bluff or whatever you call it, about 40' I'm guessing up from the parking area and the same down to the beach but the view makes it well worth the effort.
