Our stay on Lydia and Uhuru’s houseboat was wonderful! Uhuru met us when we arrived to show us around and help us get settled. He was super friendly and shared with us some local recommendations for checking out a nearby neighborhood. The captain’s quarters were just like the photos and we had everything we needed! Super clean, cute and cozy. We loved sitting up above in the cockpit area, being surrounded by windows and just enjoying being on a boat. Easy access to the train to get back into the city center or for checking out other areas of Amsterdam. Walkable to a market, some restaurants and a great bakery —De Bakkersfiets.

We had a wonderful time in Lydia's place, with the public transportation we needed 20 minutes to get to Amsterdam Center. The nights were cozy and very quiet, clear instructions to get in, the hosts were always kind and very friendly. We recommend this place if you are looking for something romantic in Amsterdam.

In der Koje schläft man relativ gut. Das Frühstück auf dem Anleger im Hafen einzunehmen, ist toll. Leider muss man immer lüften, da es sonst nach Diesel riecht.

We were inspired to find a houseboat for our Amsterdam stay after seeing ‘Ted Lasso’ with Rebecca falling into the canal. We learned the word ‘gezellig’ meaning cozy & fun. Our stay was totally gezellig. Lydia & Uhuru were always available by messenger (and bless her… Lydia delivered coffee creamer the first morning). Coffee & tea were provided along with chips and 2 unexpected & appreciated beers. The captains cabin was spacious compared to sailboats we’ve stayed on, and the bathroom was bigger than most (a towel warmer was a lovely addition). We arrived during an unexpected stretch of glorious weather & got to watch sunset from the topside deck chairs. The tram to Centraal Station is maybe 5min on foot & will have you there in 15min. Do you have a bit of adventure & distaste for cookie cutter hotels? Try this!

Es war ein ganz tolles Wochenende auf dem Boot und absolut empfehlenswert! Lydia und Uhuru sind super nett und hilfsbereit. Der Kontakt war vorher und während des Aufenthalts immer nett und hilfreich - riesen Dankeschön. Absolute Empfehlung!
