This place was amazing! I stayed here for a month and loved everything about my experience. It is a very cozy place to stay in and a great neighborhood. There are multiple bus stops very close by that can take you downtown. There are also some great stores and restaurants within a walking distance. Alan was a fantastic host who was always there if I had any questions, if I needed anything, and also gave me some great recommendations of things to do in the area. I’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is planning a trip to Seattle.

Great place to stay while in Seattle, in a beautiful more quiet side of the city. Room itself was lovely, clean, and very comfortable, and Alan was very quick to respond and attentive to make sure that my stay ran as smoothly as possible. Would highly recommend if you find yourself in the area!

Alan’s apartment is located about fifteen or twenty minutes east of the downtown core, a straight shot using public transit. If you’re concerned about not being right downtown, please don’t be - I can’t tell you how nice it was to be a little ways away from the sights, sounds and smells of downtown, to wake up in a quiet neighbourhood where people say hello to you as you walk down the street. Public transit is very close - less than a five minute walk to the closest bus downtown, and I’m not a fast walker. I called an Uber early one morning to get to an early morning pickup for a Mt. Rainier tour, and it was outside in five minutes. The apartment is extremely comfortable and you can come and go as you please without distributing anyone. There is a kettle for coffee and tea and a small cooler which I used to keep a water bottle chilled for my journeys. There are a number of coffee shops and restaurants a few blocks south of the apartment. My suggestion - plan your day so that you can head out and visit some of the city’s excellent cafes and restaurants for your meals before heading back to Madrona. Alan has a classic claw-foot bathtub with shower - extremely comfortable, with an adjacent toilet. The room has a ceiling fan which shifts the warm air outside; staying cool in this warm summer was not a problem. Alan invited me for coffee in the mornings and was very helpful with directions to various locations. As a Seattle native, he knows the ins and outs of of the city. I appreciated his hospitality and I hope that his spot will be available the next time I’m in Seattle!
