Phil's greeting made us feel right at home and it was very fun learning the history. There are beautiful, quiet surroundings. Limestone was in the line of totality for the 2024 solar eclipse making this a perfect place to stay. The place had everything we needed and more. The Aroostook Wildlife Refuge was 15 minutes away and offered several hiking and cross country ski trails. This property is on the Canadian border and Grand Falls, NB was about 20 minutes away. The Loring Air Force base was about 10 minutes away although I'm not sure how much of that is usually open to the public. We enjoyed cooking in the well stocked kitchen, but Caribou is only about a 20 minute drive. I personally loved napping on the deck in the afternoon sun.

His place had a great location for snowmobiling! I just wish mother nature had been nicer. I would definitely stay there again.

We were familiar with the area, so we considered this to be an authentic, immersive experience in northern Maine.
