The grounds of this property are beautiful -- the location is great too. The house itself felt subpar. The living room furniture needs replacement. Carpet felt quite dirty. The leather couches and the pillow cushions were dirty and did not feel like sitting on them. The lock code would not work. Had to spend 30 minutes standing outside in rain, but thankfully the area manager made herself available on phone to provide backup code. Vacasa line would not even pick up for 15 minutes. The entry gate was not working, which meant that someone had to get out of the car to open the door and close in rain, which was quite a poor experience for us. The owner did contact us to inform us of the issue, and had attempted repairs too, but to no avail for us. The car charger was a nice touch and helpful for us, but very glitch. It would stop charging randomly and I had to go to the car often to unplug / replug the charger. Would not recommend based on our poor experience.

This home is cozy and beautiful and I highly recommend it. We took our four dogs up here and they had a blast exploring the place. I loved this place so much I didn’t want to leave. My only complaint is with the managing company, Vacasa. We couldn’t get in with the lock code we were given and Vacasa didn’t get back to us until the morning. We then got stuck inside the property because the front gate wouldn’t open, and Vacasa was unhelpful in that circumstance and never followed up. (Luckily we were helped by the owner and were able to get out.) I understand things happen, I’m not upset about the mishaps but it was stressful feeling like we were on our own to manage if something else went wrong.

Lovely grounds! We spent most of our time outside. Short walk to Glen Ellen's bar and restaurants (bring a headlamp!). Very charming.

We loved staying at the Cottage in Glen Ellen. It had a beautiful yard/vineyard space, and was in the perfect location for our wine country weekend. Would love to give it 5 stars, but unfortunately, we weren't able to get in when we arrived. The code provided did not work on the lock pad. We immediately called and texted Vacasa for help and did not hear from them for over an hour. Eventually, my husband wandered around to the side of the house to see if there was an open window and found a second door with a lock pad that the code worked on. This would have been helpful information to have, so we didn't panic from the start. Many reviews for the cottage mentioned a concern about codes not working, so before we arrived, I messaged Vacasa and expressed concern. They assured me we'd be able to get in. Very frustrating when we arrived and could not. Again, this is a great Airbnb, but can't believe we experienced the same problem as everyone had before. Truly an inexcusable issue.
