West Row lies on the north bank of the navigable River Lark, 2 miles west of the town of Mildenhall, and just south of the large airbase RAF Mildenhall occupied by USAF - a plane spotters dream. The cosy full sized double bed is made up for you upon arrival with beautiful cotton bed linen. To keep warm on cooler evenings logs are supplied for the woodburner. Fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries are provided in the en-suite shower room, complete with vanity sink, plumbed toilet and shower. The kitchen has a 1 ring induction hob, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker and under counter fridge/freezer. If you prefer to cook alfresco there is a BBQ outside. The hut has its own decked area and plenty of garden space with an enclosed paddock safe for dogs. The hut can really only accommodate one medium size dog.

We had a wonderful stay at the Shepard hut. It was a cosy little nook! We felt so comfortable there and Sharon had left us some things in the hut to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We had our cocker spaniel with us so the enclosed paddock was great for throwing a ball around. We will definitely be making a trip back! We loved it!
Private and peaceful little countryside escape, Sharon was very friendly and welcoming. The hut has everything you need for a short break. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone!
Sharon was always prompt with replies of any queries I had. This was my first time staying in a shepherds hut and it didn’t disappoint. The paddock was fully enclosed so I had no fear or worries letting my dog run around and enjoy herself. The hut itself was cosy and inviting and comfortable. Everything that was needed was available. I can’t praise it enough which is why it deserves 5*. The welcome pack was a nice touch and went down well. Thank you Sharon for a wonderful stay and hopefully Dottie and myself will be back soon as we had an amazing time
Absolutely fantastic stay . Loved everything about it . Freshly baked warm bread on arrival , alongside cookies , a dog treat, wine and food for breakfast . Sharon and her husband extremely friendly and helpful . The highlight was the huge enclosed garden for the dog he had the best time and spent all weekend running around having fun . Hut was spotlessly clean and very comfortable . We didn’t miss having a TV and just enjoyed our surroundings . Would definitely return .
We had a wonderful stay in the Shepherd’s Hut! The hut was immaculate on arrival and Sharon had kindly provided us with some refreshments and breakfast for the following morning! Couldn’t recommend a stay here more, it was lovely!

West Row has a well stocked village shop as well as a coffee and cake shop. Mildenhall is just 2 miles away and has a large Sainsbury’s supermarket, pubs and places to eat. There are many takeout restaurants that will deliver also.
Places of interest that are not too far to visit are Newmarket home of horse racing, where you can also visit the Horese Racing Museum. From May onwards there are many different horse racing events taking place.
Bury St Edmunds is 30 minutes away and is a lovely market town with a market held on a Wednesday and Saturday. There are also lots of shops, pubs and restaurants.
Ickworth House near Bury St Edmunds and Anglesey Abbey near Cambridge are also worth a visit.
Cambridge is definitely worth visiting and has an excellent park and ride service. We are about 35 minutes away from Cambridge.
The beaches in Norfolk are superb and worth a visit Wells/Holkham Beach is widely recognised as being one of the finest beaches in Norfolk. Mundesley Beach has all the amenities and charm of a popular seaside resort.
We have plenty of parking on our property.
