Quiet, cabin living, nestled in the back hollars with a looming cliff over head. For climbers, the cliff out the back door hosts 4-5 star rock climbs. We are also minutes from Coal Bank Hollow, PMRP Miller Fork, and Muir Valley. For non-climbers you can enjoy the sounds of nature whistling through the hollar, the water fall, or make the short drive to the amazing hiking the RRG has to offer. 4x4 parks and tours are close by for some revving fun as well! Please continue reading In 2023, The Lonesome Dove saw it’s biggest update. A new HVAC system was installed to help guests stay comfortable during their visit. The red room offers 2 queen size beds (one firm mattress and one medium firm), TV with DVD/BluRay player along with more videos than I can count. There is a private 1/2 bath as well in this bedroom. The Blue room is an unplug kind of room. It offers a large king size bed and futon. This is a rustic type of experience with some modern living. The whole cabin has water serviced by a cistern (tank) and pump system. It is filled with a rain catch system I built. In the rain catch, the water flows through a limestone filter and then an activated carbon filter before entering the cistern. This water is good for everything but drinking and cooking. We DO NOT recommend drinking or cooking with this water. Potable water for drinking and cooking will be provided. We recommend water conservation, especially in the summer and fall months when we go longer periods without rain. Please consider quick showers. This ensures that there is enough water for the toilets. Please do not mess with the rain water catch system at the back area behind the cabin. Internet is serviced by a satellite deep in the hollar. With it being deep in the hollar, the satellite is not the fastest. Great for social media, casual web surfing, and Netflix. Zoom calls do vary in quality. One dog allowed, no cats.
