Private suite within an owner occupied, 1972 ranch style home. Located 11 country miles NW (20+ min/car) of downtown C'ville & UVA. Lovingly designed and outfitted to accommodate travelers of all kinds, offering the comforts of home in a quiet, rural setting. A soft place to land after busy days or nights out. Mossy Acres is the perfect "just like home” base to explore beautiful Central Virginia from. We'll leave a light on for you… THE HOUSE: A peaceful 1970's, split level ranch style home on 2 park-like acres, 7 country miles from the CHO-Charlottesville Airport and 11 miles from downtown Charlottesville & UVA. Just a short, beautiful drive from everything that makes the area so special. The house is 50 years old and in rural Albemarle County. It has many of it’s "original parts”… and while we keep it very clean, you can fully expect to see the occasional “outdoor invader” from time to time. If you cannot comfortably embrace (or even enjoy) a little nature, you may be happier in a newer structure, closer to the city... Muffled sounds of daily living & the aromas of home cooking do travel between the living spaces through the shared central air system which has been outfitted with a professional grade "Air Scrubber" that kills airborne pathogens. Earplugs and white noise machines have been provided for our guests. YOUR HOST: We occupy the completely separate, basement level apartment of the house with our 2 dogs and cat. The animals live indoors and are part of our family as is their hair… you may see some here & there. THE BEDROOMS: Are comfortable and thoughtfully appointed with high quality ammenities... mattresses & box springs (both zip sealed for cleanliness), down alternative pillows & duvets, & 100% cotton sheets. Each room has a television with streaming capabilities & work area. All bedroom doors are equipped with keypad locks and ceiling fans for added security & comfort. You will be supplied with plenty of plush, sanitized, 100% cotton bath linens for your stay. YOUR NEIGHBORS: Are good, hardworking, regular folks. They keep to themselves and are respectful & friendly. They have kids, lawnmowers, dogs, and chickens. They swim in their pools, play in their yards, and tend to their gardens. They burn fires in their outdoor pits, grill on thgeir decks, and throw the occasional summer party, & shoot the occasional rifle. THE PROPERTY: is home to many critters: snakes, frogs, fireflies, mosquitos, lizards, ticks, deer, squirrel, raccoon, opossum, fox, skunk, coyote, and the occasional bear (1 sighting in 5 years). * We do not give refunds on belalf of Mother Nature. Tanya’s place was an amazing stay! Her place had everything you could think of and she was helpful throughout the whole trip. The location is great as it’s not a far drive from most things. Amazing airbnb, defintely recommend to everyone!
The Boho Suite was a great last-minute find for our spontaneous weekend trip to Charlottesville. Close enough to UVA to make it easy to get to the observatory for public viewing night but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. The space is very well appointed and has anything you could need for a stay of almost any length. There were more products to choose from in the bathroom than our last several AirBNBs combined! The kitchen is well outfitted and when we mentioned that we were excited to use the fire-pit (chiminea), Tanya ensured that we had a complete s'mores kit and the chiminea was already set-up with kindling to make it a snap to get started. Our only minor compliant was that the WiFi was glitchy and a bit slow. We didn't need it much but it could be an annoyance to anyone needing a solid connection to do real work. Overall, we will absolutely check availability here first before considering other accommodations in the area when we need them again.
Tanya is a real perfectionist and really thought of everything, we were speechless. The accommodation is full of helpful amenities to make you feel at home. The terrace is huge and it was beautiful to watch the fireflies glow in the evening.
Exactly as described, this space was very spa-like and relaxing. The space had an overall artistry, but was also functional and cleverly worked at each detail. There were many thoughtful touches such as electric candles and no-heat fireplace for ambience and a large deck with visiting deer and birds. The kitchen had extra snacks, cereals, condiments and flavored soda water. The place was squeaky clean, directions clear and the bed was comfortable. I had a great stay!
Perfect place for a weekend getaway. Tanya was super responsive and friendly, and literally thought of everything. The home was stocked with snacks, toiletries, phone chargers and anything else you could possibly need. Decor was super cute too. Hopefully we get to go back in the future!

Earlysville is a teeny-tiny, SUPER sleepy, mostly residential town... it is NOT an exciting town, but it is a great place to relax, and central to everything the area has to offer.
Prepare for a gorgeous 12 mile, 20+ minute drive each way into the city of Charlottesville and downtown/UVA areas.
Our home is perfect for those who are looking for a home-like place to land at night, & those who are here to enjoy the many historic, outdoor, and outlying attractions.
The house sits pretty on 2 rural acres, set just off the road by a short driveway. Our neighbors are barely visible through the tree line during the foliaged seasons. You may hear the typical rural "neighborhood sounds" during the day. Evenings on the property are very calm and quiet. The only people you will encounter are us and possibly our guests. We are very respectful of your privacy.
The house sits just off the road, and there is some traffic during typical work week commuting hours, but nothing out of the ordinary or that has ever bothered any of our guests. Earplugs and sound machines are provided.

Our driveway is easily traversed, and can accommodate 3-4 guest vehicles depending on their size.
Parking in the city of Charlottesville (11 miles South East) is mostly paid lots, there is very little available street parking.
