**Please note you need a four-wheel drive truck (not AWD vehicle!) to access the site!** Enjoy beautiful unobstructed views of the mountains from your very own private bell tent on a rugged mountain side. Everything you’ll need for a luxurious outdoor experience is provided at the site including grilling, showering, restroom and a pillow top queen bed. Come visit the great Northwest mountains for stargazing and incredible sunsets while experiencing the beauty of the wild. This is a large 300sqft bell tent that is 20 ft wide and 11ft tall with a pillow top queen platform bed, dresser, desk, extra blowup mattress, grill, dining table, deck chairs and absolutely beautiful Mountain View’s. There is also a bathhouse containing a sink, toilet and outdoor shower with hot water and water pressure. We do allow pets but only dogs and up to two (if you have 3, they are absolutely welcome, there is just a $20 additional cleaning fee) We are a rural and remote campsite and community without the accommodations of towns, so please pack out all your trash and camping supplies you bring. Also please bring a sealed cooler or leave all food in your vehicle and not the tent as this will attract unwanted bugs and animals (such as mice!) Our glampsite is equipped with a 750-watt solar-powered inverter, perfect for charging your phone, laptop, and other devices. However, please be aware that cell reception is limited here. Embrace this off-grid retreat as a refreshing escape from the modern world. Enjoy!
If you’re looking to escape the noisey city and you want to get away, go to the Sleepy Sasquatch. It was so beautiful, we will definitely come back. FYI, you will need a 4x4 vehicle, lots of loose sand and ruts on the way to the yurt!!!!
Amazing stay at the sleepy Sasquatch!! our dogs were in heaven at this place, private, beautiful views all around. The bed was comfortable; appreciated the amenities- BBQ, cast iron, all the things needed to cook. Hot shower, water, solar charging for phone available. Reception is some spots. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. Make sure you have a 4WD vehicle to get down the road to the yert. We will most definitely be back again!
This was a really beautiful spot! And if you’re glamping this is a great place to come! We loved being on our own and hearing the coyotes and birds and nothingness. It was so charming inside the tent. And nice to get out of the heat mid day. We were even there when it was 80air quality and not super clear and we still rest enjoyed the fresh air and our time there! A couple of TIPS. We did walk to the site since our car didn’t have 4 wheel drive. First, DONT try to drive if you don’t have a hefty car. That would be crazy. Second if you walk, you will be walking in a foot of dirt sometimes. And it’s about a 20 minute walk. Matt explained this to us, so we knew what we were getting in to. Bring water! And if you can’t lite a fire, you’ll have a hard time boiling anything. We saw a rattlesnake slithering right by the porch, so just beware of that. And there was a mouse that got into the tent (which is normal for camping) but it wasn’t a problem because our food was all zipped up!
We had a wonderful time with our 13.5 year old dog. The place is perfect for a couple and a pet. There's a dog bed, pet water bowl, a ball, and even a rawhide was left for my dog to chew on. Do note that there are snakes in this region and we saw a large snake and a small one, so do not leave your dogs off leash and try to get them vaccinated for rattle snakes before visiting, at least 2 month before. Our dog had a blast! Bring drinking water with you. some reviews have mentioned that its very hot, but keep in mind that it also gets cold, so bring layers. There are lots of hiking land all over the place, we had a great time exploring hill after hill. We cooked all our meals, and got a cooler with ice for drinks. A 4X4 is a must. AWD may not make it in dry season. I highly recommend this cute Airbnb. We made very fond memories with our old dog here and we will forever remember these happy days. I wish we could have stayed longer.
This is an active free range ranch so you may see cows wandering. There is also a large population of wildlife in this area, please take caution (and keep dogs safe) from rattlesnakes, coyotes, bears more.
Thank you for being mindful and respectful of their presence!
The directions to reach the property on Apple and online Maps is slightly off so you may need to drive 20-100 yards further to reach the driveway off of McLaughlin ( there’s a sign directing the way). When entering the property from the road just drive straight to the cow gate. Open and relock the gate and turn left following the sleepy Sasquatch signs towards the campsite. Please park in front of the sleepy Sasquatch sign next to the bathhouse.
