Casa Cielo is a beautiful home in the jungle of Chacala. It's a great spot for a family with kids. Ours are 9, 12. and 13 and they loved the net and the bunk room. We opted into having the chef come and support with cooking two meals a day which was a game changer. She made the daily work of family cooking seem easy and made it truly a vacation for me, mom. We were there in June (low-season) and it was very quiet. Beach Club basically closed - no running water to shower, murky pools, and we were the only people there. This doesn't reflect poorly on the house but it was part of why we booked and we were disappointed with this part (no fault of the owner) Easy walk/drive down into town and to neighboring beaches. Felt very safe and secure. Loved the outdoor dining table for breakfast; evenings were very heavy on mosquitos.
Highly recommend. I stayed with my family over the weekend and it was a little piece of paradise. The home is tastefully decorated, the surroundings are relaxing and beautiful. Everything us accesible and our host was highly responsive. I can’t wait to go back!
Plans to do:
archeological visit, to the Altavista petroglyph complex is located near Chacala, The area is known as "La Pila del Rey", "El Santuario", This region was originally home to the largely unstudied Tecoxquin native culture dating from approximately 2000 BC to 2300 BCE. It contains 56 petroglyphs whose antiquity cannot be accurately determined. Aside from its cultural and archeological importance, the site remains an important religious center for the Huicholes who still leave offerings and perform ceremonies here.
located along the sides of a creek on the slopes the Copo volcano. Covers an area of approximately 80 hectares, with a large concentration of petroglyphs. More than 2000 engravings identified.
It is located about 40 minutes from Chacala, the plan is to walk enjoying the beautiful landscapes to the center of the petroglyphs, a guide is needed to get there, I can put you in contact with one who speaks perfect English and knows the sheep even by the name of the trees. if you want to go it is necessary to schedule the tour
Eating plans:
We can offer you the cook service for breakfast, lunch and leave you dinner prepared in the refrigerator so that you only reheat it. This helps to avoid the stress of cooking or having to go out every day to eat.
I can also leave you menus and phone numbers of restaurants or home delivery,
remember that here on the beach everything takes much longe.
The town of Cahacala is very small, a traditional Mexican beach town, there is only one street with several restaurants with Mexican food, the zarandeado fish and the bean tacos are great.
My recommendations are Las Brisa, Acela or Chicos restaurant. in the Beach clubhouse, there is a small cafeteria that opens from 9 to 5, there are hamburgers, ceviches, very basic but good
If you need to buy food, there is the Roca store (the new one) it is in the center of town and you can find a wide assortment of Costco products, it also has home delivery
·The day the Casa Cielo,
wake up and go out to walk to the viewpoint of ¨la punta¨ through the walkway that takes you through wonderful views. come back and have a good breakfast at home in the outdoor dining room, Xochilt the cook is excellent for Mexican food, spend a long day at the beach order snacks and ceviches at the clubhouse and then come home for dinner at home a rested time on the net or watching movies with the family.
·Day at sea
we can arrange for you to have a panga (boat) to go fishing, or to visit the secret beach of las cuevitas (wonderful for snorkeling), if you already have knowledge they can take you surfing to La Caleta, a world-renowned surf spot, we can also schedule surfing classes surfing at el palmar beach
·Hike to the Caimana volcano: right here in Chacala, We can arrange a guide to take you to the Caima volcano, it is a 2-hour tour and the views are wonderful.
·We put at your service: Mexican Crafts teacher for adults and children , private yoga instructor for adults and children (English speaking), masseuse at home, and daily housekeeping.
