County Galway · 整套别墅 · 4室6床5.0卫 · 可住8人 · Traditional Lodge on 4 acres
First time listing. The lodge was originally the stables and servant quarters to the “big house”, Garraunbaun House. It was lovingly restored in the 60s, and at one stage was owned by the American comedian and Emmy award winner Michael O’ Donoghue. One of his guests at this fishing lodge was the famed director Quentin Tarantino just prior to the release of his movie Pulp Fiction. The property is surrounded by beautiful gardens and lawns lovingly tended to by our local gardener Martin. There is a lot of space in this house. The rooms are in generous proportions. There are 3 common areas plus a dinning room. There isn't a dedicated office but the 1GB Fibre Internet WiFi works throughout the house thanks to a Mesh network.
There is a road running the length of the west coast of Ireland called the Wild Atlantic Way. It goes through Connemara, and is probably the wildest and most beautiful part it. The actor Peter O’Toole whiled away his last couple of decades in the area and claimed that, in his heart, this is where his real home was. We believe this landscape will find a place in your heart.
There are beaches, sights, walks, a championship golf course, and some of the best fishing in Ireland. The charming town of Clifden with shops and restaurants is just 13 minutes drive away.
The lodge is on a quiet boreen (a small Irish Road) and is somewhat remote, so a car is needed to get around. Letterfrack village is about 8 minutes drive away and it has a well stocked country store, 3 pubs, a gift shop, a coffee shop and a hairdressers. Clifden is about a 13 minute drive and has an array of shops, boutiques, gift shops, pubs, restaurants and the best bookshop in the West!
There is great hiking and walking trails in the area, but you can walk outside the door and be presented with beautiful views of Ballinakill Bay and the 12 Bens Mountains.
