Our little homestead is located at the end of a small rural road and is surrounded by several large parcels of homesteading/agricultural properties. The larger neck of our neighborhood is made up of other small homesteads, family homes, and lots and lots of trees.
We like to say we live in a "gated community," farm gates that is, as our closest neighbors are our good pals at the Lucky Horse Ranch, a sweet couple who manage a poppy farm, and our dear friends who operate a local hayfield.
We love that it is the kind of place where neighbors still know each other's names and we are always there to help each other out or lend a hand, backhoe, or a pair of painted party goats if the need arises (like in the case of an emergency or a community fundraiser)
Running through our backyard and our neighborhood is Sliclock Creek, a long and winding salmon-bearing creek.
We absolutely love where we live and hope our guests will too! We feel we have the best of both worlds. We are smack in the center of what feels and looks like "the old Sourdough Alaska" and yet, we are minutes from great fishing holes, ski, walking, and bike paths.
There are shopportunities for the necessities very close by, yet "going to town" is only an additional ten-minute drive.
From there, we have a HUGE backyard {as in our great state) to explore and it is three times the size of Texas!
