We stayed at The Lighthorseman for one night, and had an exceptional stay. It's a nice traditional pub with great rooms that are well kept. Dan is an exceptional host and his staff are very friendly. We had the breakfast in the morning which was made with locally sourced produce, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The walk into the city centre is roughly 15 minutes, and there is also a very nice riverside walk that Dan put us onto which is roughly the same length. I can't recommend both Dan and his pub any more highly, I will definitely look to staying here again when visiting friends in the area.

Great place, great location, 15 mins walk to the centre of the action. Also lovely river walks basically on the doorstep. Friendly hosts. Welcomed our two collies no problems. Free parking on site. Good breakfast. Dan doesn't even mind if you call him James the whole time (sorry about that)!

Good free private parking. The barwoman was very friendly and let us know all information required and showed us to our room. Great location to see the sights. We seen all the main attractions in York walking distance from the pub Hotel. Price is brilliant, would highly recommend

Ideally located, for walking into York, close to the river and green area for walking dogs. Lovely, fresh, hearty breakfast
